Serve up your favourite dishes on the dining table inside, or on the patio outside to make the most of the pretty garden views whilst enjoying a BBQ. A stylish tiled bathroom houses a freestanding bath and overhead rainfall shower where you can freshen up after the day’s adventures. At bedtime, the luxurious king-size bed with Hypnos mattress ensures a restful night’s sleep, dual aspect windows allow natural light to pour in, and a Smart TV means you can sink under the covers and enjoy a film in ultimate comfort.

East of Bodmin is Cardinham Woods (9 miles), one of Cornwall’s hidden gems, which is a majestic setting for a walk and a picnic with your loved one. In the AONB you’ll find the tranquil waters of Colliford Lake (14 miles) which stretches for an impressive 900 acres. Experience the coast with a day at Rock Beach (14 miles), which, at low tide, offers access across to Daymer Bay to ensure the full seaside experience. For something a little different, head to the Eden Project (19 miles) where you’ll be able to experience a taste of life in the rainforest or Mediterranean whilst wandering through the unique biomes before stopping off for a bite to eat from one of the many on-site eateries.

The Linney is a beautiful little cottage set against an amazing location overlooking a valley. It is one of seven dwellings on the site. It is totally private and even has its own EV charging point which is so convenient. It is equipped with everything you would need and much more It is well located within easy reach of all the main coastal destRead moreinations and also has some beautiful National Trust sites a stones throw away. The owners Jane and Ian are lovely and nothing is too much trouble. They had laid out a wonderful Cornish cream tea and chocolate goodies to greet us upon arrival and there was fresh milk in the fridge and coffee pods ready for the machine-what more could you want. Will definitely be returning to Penrose Burden Cottages and will be highly recommending them to family and friends. Hide

Jane is a very friendly, welcoming & helpful owner. The cottage is in a peaceful, rural location, with wonderful views across fields & valley. It is well equipped & comfortable and provided for a happy stay. The tray of locally made treats & guest toiletries is a lovely addition and the laundry/drying room came in very handy after a coastal walk inRead more the rain. Although there are 6 holiday cottages on site, they each have parking spaces outside and are separate so you still have your own personal space to relax & enjoy some peaceful time away. Despite mixed weather, we did 3 days of South West Coast Path walking (between Bude & Tintagel) and 3 days of visiting National Trust properties (Lanhydrock especially recommended). All locations were within easy reach in the car. We were very happy with our choice of cottage. The Linney is an ideal & cosy retreat for a couple. It is very clear how much love & care has gone into creating a homely environment in which to stay. The communication from Original Cottages and the owners was very helpful too. Hide

Fabulous week, loved the cottage, view amazing. Weather great and we did lots of walking. Best ice cream ay Snailspace. To end each day at The Linney, glass of wine and the view was perfect. Thank you
