Description

This beautiful stone barn conversion offers a high standard of spacious self catering accommodation. The owner has put much thought into the provision of comfort and quality featuring slate floors, wooden worktops and bespoke oak staircase. Nellies, a former potato store and workshop, is situated on the edge of family run Carnevas Farm in the heart of this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The farm is adjacent to Carnevas Holiday Park which offers on site facilities during the summer season to include a shop, a bar also serving bar meals and children's play area all of which are available to occupants of Nellies. The well loved surfing beach of Porthcothan Bay is within walking distance and on the way you will pass the popular Tredrea Inn and Berryfields Farm where you could sample a Cornish cream tea.  Also located on the edge of Carnevas Farm are Bowgie, Carnevas Farmhouse and Swallows.  All private and independent from each other; any number can be booked together for couples/families looking to holiday together but with their own spaces.

This property offers a small group discount of 40% on full weekly bookings for parties of 2 at certain times of the year which means that bedrooms 2 and 3 (first floor) will be locked off. This discount is automatically applied and the holiday price you are quoted reflects this. If you have any questions or require full use of the property, and don't want bedrooms to be locked off, please call our friendly team on 01841 533331 or email cottages@cornishhorizons.co.uk for more information.

Mr Chris S,

We had a fabulous week. The house is very well catered for 6 adults. Our family has been camping at Carnevas since 1968. We walked most of the 7 bays, also to Bedruthan Steps and back.

Mrs K,

Beautiful cottage, lovely warm welcome. Fantastic holiday as always, thank you.

Hammond Family,

Mrs S C,

Map

Porthcothan Bay is another of those locations which is just waiting to be discovered and explored. Within easy reach of Padstow and St Merryn, and a short drive up the coast road from Newquay and Mawgan Porth, the sheltered, sandy bay at Porthcothan is another of the many family-friendly beaches that can be enjoyed along this part of the coastline. It is also dog-friendly all year round, and boasts picturesque cliff walks and outstanding scenery. The area around Porthcothan is also home to a wide variety of sea birds, and the cliffs are often grazed by ponies and sheep, which helps with conservation of local plant life. The nearby village of St Merryn and the town of Padstow offer an excellent choice of pubs and restaurants, in addition to the local pub, the Tredrea Inn, which hosts live bands and also has a beer garden where you can sip your drink while admiring the superb views over the bay. Porthcothan Bay is also close to the village of St Eval, where anyone, whatever your age, can have loads of fun on the Karting Circuit, and when you're done, you can visit nearby Kernow Chocolate where you will find a wide range of yummy chocolate treats!
