Think quintessential country cottage and this is exactly what comes to mind. A traditional-style farmhouse, beautifully modernised, whilst retaining the charm and character of its age. Nestled in glorious countryside The Old Farmhouse is to be found in a tiny hamlet called Hendra in a secluded valley on a family farm, just a couple of miles inland of the stunning beaches at Perranporth, Holywell Bay and Newquay. With plenty of space to roam and such a peaceful, secluded location this lovely holiday cottage is ideal for a family holiday or for a group of friends wanting quality time together.
The space in this cottage is evident as soon as you enter the welcoming entrance hall. A huge living room with squashy sofas and open fire, four spacious bedrooms, a fabulous sociable kitchen/dining room and a secluded patio with great facilities for al fresco relaxing. The cottage is surrounded by beautiful countryside and tucked away down a private drive so provides a fantastic safe environment for children and pets. There are beef cattle and calves on the farm, and we also grow beautiful seasonal cut flowers
Entrance Hall: Space for coats and shoes. Stairs to first floor
Upper Living Room: The oldest part of the house, with pale, lime plaster walls, offers a light, peaceful space. It has a very large (now decorative) stone fireplace, housing a bookcase with a wide selection of classic and modern books. Thick, exterior walls allow for wide wooden window ledges. 2 x two seater sofas and an accent chair create seating for 5 people. There is a modern sound system including DAB radio and Bluetooth.
Lower Living Room: Carrying on from the first sitting room, one step down brings you into the lower sitting room. This has two 2 x three seater sofas, and two chairs, plus a cushioned window seat. There is an open fire for winter and a Smart TV with BT TV.
Kitchen/Dining Room: Farmhouse style but newly renovated, with modern conveniences. Oak worktops and cupboards, gas hob, electric oven, dishwasher, large fridge, family dining table with chairs and window seat, cool terracotta tiled floor.
Utility Room: Additional worktop and storage space. Microwave, washing machine and tumble dryer.
Shower Room: with large, tiled, walk-in shower enclosure, wash basin, WC, radiator, shaver point with a nice view out to the garden.
Bedroom 1: A double aspect large room with pine king size bed (5’), bedside units, chest of drawers, upholstered chair and open hanging unit with plenty of storage space.
Bedroom 2: French style furniture makes this a very elegant room. Light and bright, with a south-facing window looking out over the patio and garden. Double bed (4’6”), double wardrobe, chest of drawers and vintage armchair.
En Suite Bathroom: Decorated with pretty floral wallpaper and white paintwork a compact ‘P’ shaped bath with shower over, wash basin, WC and radiator.
Bedroom 3: Twin beds (3’), a good sized chest of drawers with a large mirror, upholstered bedroom chair.
Bedroom 4: Twin beds (2’6” – more suitable for children), large chest of drawers and an open hanging unit, bedroom chair.
Main Bathroom: Country style, with green and white paintwork and pretty wallpaper. It has a large quandrant shower enclosure, WC, wash basin and airing cupboard
GARDEN & PARKING: A large south facing lawned on two levels which is partly enclosed by a dry stone wall, and partly edged with hydrangeas. The upper lawn is not enclosed to the rear, where it carries on around the house, eventually joining up with the owner’s garden. Sandstone patio, which features a wooden bench, ideal for a morning cup of coffee, and a generous patio table, chairs and parasol. Charcoal barbecue supplied. Ample parking for several cars.
Changeover day: Friday - arrival 7:00pm - departure 9:00am
Pets Welcome: Maximum 1 dog - £25 per pet per week.
Baby Equipment: Travel cot and highchair provided. Please bring your own cot linen.
Power and Heat: Electric Heating. Open fire - initial basket of logs supplied October - March)

Located on the rugged North Coast, Perranporth is the gateway to one of Cornwall's most spectacular beaches where the three miles of beautiful golden sands, huge surf and sand dunes, full with wildlife all combine to make a pretty impressive location. Surrounded by countryside that inspired Winston Graham's Poldark novels, this bustling village has plenty to offer from ice-cream parlours, beach shops, family pubs, restaurants and cafes all serving delicious Cornish produce.
Perranporth beach is a remarkable playground for the whole family- build sandcastles, play football or explore the countless rock pools. Take a swim, have a picnic, take a stroll with some canine companions or at sunset, let it provide the perfect place to watch the sun go down! For the more active, there are surf and kite buggy schools on the beach and the coastal footpath, from the village provides stunning walking trails.
