Padstow is arguably now one of the best-known of Cornwall's holiday destinations- a working harbour still retaining the character of the fishing industry while also managing to reinvent itself as a modern holiday destination. Padstow has so much to offer the discerning holiday maker, with several beaches along the Camel Estuary, where you can also have a go at a range of water sports such as sailing and windsurfing, as well as a variety of boat trips such as fishing excursions, speedboat rides, sea-life safaris and the ever popular Jubilee Queen. You can indulge your passion for food at an excellent selection of restaurants in the town, which is now the base for a number of celebrity chefs including Rick Stein and Paul Ainsworth. If you're looking for more active pursuits, you can cycle the Camel Trail, the route of the old railway line running between Padstow and Bodmin. If walking is more your thing, there are many walking trails and routes waiting to be discovered, and if you're bringing a dog, there are plenty of dog-friendly places to explore. Gaining popularity in recent years is the Padstow Christmas Festival, now spread over four days, with cookery demonstrations, food and craft market, and entertainment.

We stayed here during the Padstow Christmas Festival and thoroughly enjoyed it. The apartment is very central and convenient for all the shops and restaurants, all on the flat which is a bonus in Padstow! There is a restricted parking outside where you can safely drop off your luggage. The steps inside the building are narrow and might pose a problem to someone with reduced mobility. The apartment itself is very comfortable and clean, a great place to relax after a busy day, very comfortable beds and fabulous shower! We were worried about the coin meter for the electric but it used just £5 for a four day stay using the heating for long periods during this time. The only slight problem we had was with no internet access but otherwise it was great!Mrs O - 18th December 2014
