Methven is a 1850’s cottage that has been tastefully renovated to provide everything you need for a perfect holiday. Wooden floors and beamed ceilings maintain the character of this lovely home from home. Situated in a quiet part of Church Lane it is an almost level 200-yard walk to the harbour with its numerous shops, pubs, and restaurants. The front door leads into the well-equipped kitchen diner, continue to the lounge with a Cornish stone fireplace & wood burner for chilly evenings. French doors open to the south facing garden with its lovely planting, patio, and a seating area.  Upstairs there are two bedrooms, a double and a twin both with ample storage space and a shower room. The owners have provided many extras including a guide to the local walks and beaches, a wind break, buckets and spades and crab lines. If you are unlucky with the weather, there is a selection of books & games for adults & children. This a rare opportunity to stay in a character cottage with the benefit of a parking space within 50 yards.

Being so close to the harbour Methven is perfectly placed to take a walk up to the headland (0.5 miles) for stunning views of the town and out to sea. Book a fishing trip or a sealife safari at the harbour and go wildlife watching along the coast. Take the ferry across to Rock and walk to Polzeath (2 miles each way) Prideaux Place with its Elizabethan house, tearoom & deer park is only a few minutes’ walk. Carry on past Prideaux Place along a country lane to reach the lovely Tregirls beach.

Well equipped, comfortable cottage in a great location in the centre of Padstow, but in a very quiet spot. Nice to have outside seating area and the car parking space is much appreciated.

A lovely cottage, clean, comfortable and well-equipped. It was in a very convenient position, only being a 5-minute walk to the harbour, and having a parking space so close to the property was definitely a bonus. The beds were lovely and comfortable and the whole cottage was well-furnished. Despite being so close to the centre of Padstow it was verRead morey quiet. We loved being able to walk down every evening and stroll round the harbour. Even though it is very busy during the day, it is quite peaceful and pleasant in the evenings. Hide

Thoroughly enjoyed a very relaxing & restful week. Loved the cottage - very clean, beautifully decorated, everything we needed. Couldn't believe how perfect the location is - only took our car out once. So lucky with the weather too.

Property was everything and more, like home from home, comfortable beds, good power shower, warm and cosy and fully equipped, would definitely recommend for both property and location, would also like to mention it was probably the cleanest property we have ever stayed in, full marks to the housekeeper.
