Byre Cottage is a delightful barn conversion enjoying tranquil panoramic countryside views all the way to the sea in the distance. This beautifully converted property has all modern conveniences whilst still maintaining its original character. It offers high ceilings, a charming woodburning stove and a small garden; a perfect base from which to explore the surrounding countryside, coastal paths and the quaint fishing town of Padstow only a mile away. Padstow also has a number of local shops and a supermarket, catering for all day to day needs. The north coast provides some of the most spectacular and rugged coastal scenery in Cornwall as well as superb bathing and surfing beaches. The Camel Trail follows the line of the old railway from Padstow to Bodmin and provides a level path ideal for cycling or walking. Just down the road from Byre Cottage is a handy footpath which leads into Padstow saving the necessity of walking along the road. Padstow is arguably now one of the best-known of Cornwall's holiday destinations - a working harbour still retaining the character of the fishing industry while also managing to reinvent itself as a modern holiday destination. Padstow has so much to offer the discerning holiday maker, with several beaches along the Camel Estuary, where you can also have a go at a range of water sports such as sailing and windsurfing, as well as a variety of boat trips such as fishing excursions, speedboat rides, sea-life safaris and the ever popular Jubilee Queen. You can indulge your passion for food at an excellent selection of restaurants in the town, which is now the base for a number of celebrity chefs including Rick Stein and Paul Ainsworth. If you're looking for more active pursuits, you can cycle the Camel Trail, the route of the old railway line running between Padstow and Bodmin. If walking is more your thing, there are many walking trails and routes waiting to be discovered, and if you're bringing a dog, there are plenty of dog-friendly places to explore. Gaining popularity in recent years is the Padstow Christmas Festival, now spread over four days, with cookery demonstrations, food and craft market, and entertainment.
Enjoyed the stay again and hope to go again in 2018.Mr P Kingston - 30th May 2017
I was impressed with the little extras. It was lovely to arrive to a cream tea with home made scones and although we didn't need the bag of logs because the weather was glorious, it was thoughtful of the owner to offer them.Mrs A Barton - 25th April 2017
This is our third or forth visit to this cottage so I think this shows we love Byre Cottage and its warm and welcoming owners. thank youMrs J Brook - 9th February 2017
Excellent will definitely recommend you.Mr M Kendall - 23rd May 2016
Fantastic beaches for children, dogs and everybody, excellent service from Cornish Horizons.Mr BARRY Lintern - 18th February 2016
We had a week here in July & there is nothing you can fault. On arrival a cream tea is waiting for you and its the personal touches here that mean so much. We will definitely be going back. It's also lovely that the owner of this cottage comes to see you & if everything is alright. WONDERFUL..Mrs M - 4th August 2014
Our second visit to Byre Cottage and we have found it difficult to leave at the end of our stay! The owners are wonderful- flowers, cream tea and local papers on arrival. A visit during the evening on arrival day to ensure that everything is in order or if we require anything- nothing too much trouble for them and nothing 'satisfactory' or 'poor' to complain about. The proximity to Padstow is ideal- far enough away from the crowds, but near enough to walk to the town.Mrs H - 28th April 2014
