Description

Situated down a quiet lane on the fringe of Padstow and having views of the estuary from the upstairs windows this three storey town house style property, in the middle of a terrace of four similar, is just 10 minute's walk from Padstow along the nearby Camel Trail.  The quiet location is ideal as a haven from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and the property is well equipped to ensure a stress-free stay. The small back garden is a sun trap and just to the rear of the property is a footpath up to Dennis Hill where stands an obelisk built in 1887 to celebrate Queen Victoria's Golden Jubilee and which affords some stunning views of the Camel estuary. The Camel Trail follows the contours of the estuary and leads to the market town of Wadebridge -about 5 miles - and thereafter to Bodmin.  It is ideal if you want to bring your bikes but, if not, bike hire is available close by.  Just down the coast are several superb sandy beaches and the beautiful coastal path with its spectacular rugged coastline can be reached by walking through the town.

Padstow is arguably now one of the best-known of Cornwall's holiday destinations - a working harbour still retaining the character of the fishing industry while also managing to reinvent itself as a modern holiday destination. Padstow has so much to offer the discerning holiday maker, with several beaches along the Camel Estuary, where you can also have a go at a range of water sports such as sailing and windsurfing, as well as a variety of boat trips such as fishing excursions, speedboat rides, sea-life safaris and the ever popular Jubilee Queen. You can indulge your passion for food at an excellent selection of restaurants in the town, which is now the base for a number of celebrity chefs including Rick Stein and Paul Ainsworth.  If you're looking for more active pursuits, you can cycle the Camel Trail, the route of the old railway line running between Padstow and Bodmin.  If walking is more your thing, there are many walking trails and routes waiting to be discovered, and if you're bringing a dog, there are plenty of dog-friendly places to explore. Gaining popularity in recent years is the Padstow Christmas Festival, now spread over four days, with cookery demonstrations, food and craft market, and entertainment.

3 Dennis Cove was an excellent property, within easy walking distance of Padstow and lovely views over the estuary.
