Located at the edge of the old town on the road leading up out of Padstow, Baxters Cottage is well-equipped and furnished and decorated in a light, airy, modern style. Located just 2 minutes' walk from Padstow's picturesque harbour and yet provides parking for two cars. It is just a few hundred yards from the shops, pubs and many highly recommended restaurants, including Rick Stein's famous Seafood Restaurant. It is a lovely base for a week, ideal location on the edge of town, with the bonus of parking. Lovely interior, with a nice new kitchen and patio area. We have stayed here several times, and it is great to know that our home for a week is comfy, clean, and has everything we need. Even with the enhanced covid cleaning etc, there were no issues, and we felt safe in the house. Only problem is getting in, as it is so popular!
5 Star. We will be coming back.
The cottage is a very rare thing in Padstow: near the centre, parking and dog friendly. I have stayed in this cottage many times and would not stay anywhere else, except next door, in Harbour Cottage.
Padstow is arguably now one of the best-known of Cornwall's holiday destinations - a working harbour still retaining the character of the fishing industry while also managing to reinvent itself as a modern holiday destination. Padstow has so much to offer the discerning holiday maker, with several beaches along the Camel Estuary, where you can also have a go at a range of water sports such as sailing and windsurfing, as well as a variety of boat trips such as fishing excursions, speedboat rides, sea-life safaris and the ever popular Jubilee Queen. You can indulge your passion for food at an excellent selection of restaurants in the town, which is now the base for a number of celebrity chefs including Rick Stein and Paul Ainsworth. If you're looking for more active pursuits, you can cycle the Camel Trail, the route of the old railway line running between Padstow and Bodmin. If walking is more your thing, there are many walking trails and routes waiting to be discovered, and if you're bringing a dog, there are plenty of dog-friendly places to explore. Gaining popularity in recent years is the Padstow Christmas Festival, now spread over four days, with cookery demonstrations, food and craft market, and entertainment.
