If you're seeking peace and quiet, look no further.  Gwels Efan Barn is situated on a traffic free section of the Saint's Way - a trading route dating back to the Bronze Age, running coast to coast from Padstow to Fowey.  This delightful little property, located in the grounds of Gwels Efan, is set in a truly rural location, with livestock in the surrounding fields, chickens in the garden (in a coop) and extensive countryside views, but is about 10 minutes' drive from Padstow and about 15 minutes' drive to the spectacular North Coast with its stunning scenery and sandy beaches.  If you don't fancy cooking after a full day out and about, The Ring O' Bells Pub in St Issey and The Journeyman Restaurant at Mellingey are both about half a mile away, or visit the Pickwick Inn overlooking the Camel Estuary.

Kitchen/Diner: Fridge, freezer, microwave, built-in electric oven, electric hob.
Lounge: TV, DVD player, electric flame-effect fire, countryside and woodland views.
Wet Room: Thermostatic shower, basin, w.c.
Bedroom: Double bed, bedside units, built-in wardrobe, dressing table, chest of drawers, hair dryer.

Padstow is arguably now one of the best-known of Cornwall's holiday destinations - a working harbour still retaining the character of the fishing industry while also managing to reinvent itself as a modern holiday destination. Padstow has so much to offer the discerning holiday maker, with several beaches along the Camel Estuary, where you can also have a go at a range of water sports such as sailing and windsurfing, as well as a variety of boat trips such as fishing excursions, speedboat rides, sea-life safaris and the ever popular Jubilee Queen. You can indulge your passion for food at an excellent selection of restaurants in the town, which is now the base for a number of celebrity chefs including Rick Stein and Paul Ainsworth.  If you're looking for more active pursuits, you can cycle the Camel Trail, the route of the old railway line running between Padstow and Bodmin.  If walking is more your thing, there are many walking trails and routes waiting to be discovered, and if you're bringing a dog, there are plenty of dog-friendly places to explore. Gaining popularity in recent years is the Padstow Christmas Festival, now spread over four days, with cookery demonstrations, food and craft market, and entertainment.
