We thoroughly enjoyed our week and the house actually exceeded our expectations. The position and views were beautiful and gave a sense of being tucked away whilst not feeling isolated and gave us great access to Wadebridge and the surrounding area and coast. The house was immaculate, spacious and incredibly well equipped with everything we could need. The luxurious linens and fittings combined with the underfloor heating made the home feel very welcoming and comfortable to be in. We loved spending time there and enjoyed the openness of the main living area where we spent most of our evenings. Thank you again for sorting our stay at such last minute notice and we hope to book again in the future.
The property was really well equipped and up to date. The area is beautiful.
Superb location for amazing views. The property was well equipped. Lots of attractions to visit nearby, and the pub next door had excellent food.
We holiday in the Padstow area at least twice a year every year. The location of this property was excellent and the views were amazing.
We have booked through Cornish Horizons many times and all the properties have been excellent. Pen-Y-Les has to be one of the best appointed properties we have ever stayed in. It is located within easy reach of the beaches, towns and other attractions and has wonderful views over the Camel Estuary from the lounge and back garden. Every thing has been thought of and it really feels like home from home. It is spacious, comfortable, peaceful and spotlessly prepared. Access to the Camel Trail is down an adjacent lane with beautiful wild flower filled hedgerows. The superb Quarryman pub, providing excellent food if needed, is a matter of seconds away. This was our second stay in Pen-Y-Les and we will certainly be back.
The former market town of Wadebridge is another often-overlooked location, but is a great base for exploring many areas of Cornwall. The Camel Trail links it with Padstow and Bodmin, and it is also close to villages such as Polzeath and Rock. Wadebridge itself is a lively town boasting many amenities including a cinema, several local pubs which offer live music and good atmospheres, and a unique mix of local shops and businesses which make it stand out from many other small towns. The town's position on the Camel Estuary also makes it a good prospect for water-sports such as water-skiing, canoeing and sailing. Another talking point is the town's recently-acquired status as one of the country's foremost 'eco-towns' -many local people are advocates of renewable energy such as wind and solar power. This is largely down to the work of the Wadebridge Renewable Energy Network, whose aim is to make the town the first in Britain to be fully powered by renewable energy. Plenty of events take place in Wadebridge and surrounding area throughout the year, including the Royal Cornwall Show, and the popular Wadebridge Folk Festival. There is also a beer festival in June, and The Big Lunch, a street party organised by the town's residents.
