Mabel Cottage is a lovely cottage in a great location. It has everything you need for a comfortable and peaceful break.
Really enjoyed our stay in the cottage - convenient for North Cornwall beaches, just about walking distance to Wadebridge with good bakery, butchers and fishmonger and comfortable, nicely furnished house to enjoy after the beach. Highly recommended.
This cottage has been perfect for us as central to our family – literally a 2 minute walk! Compliments to all – ideal location and spotless – very welcoming. Will definitely be looking into booking again. Managed to get this accommodation at the very last minute – FATE – ideal for our family reunion and mini break. Thank you it has meant a lot.
This has been our 3rd visit to Mabel Cottage and another lovely week. Only one rainy day so we visited Newquay Zoo which the kids loved. We had a great meal at The View near Harlyn Bay and another at The Ship Inn Wadebridge. We will definitely return!
Perfect position for exploring Cornwall. Very enjoyable stay. The cottage is comfortable, beautifully furnished and spotlessly clean. A lovely walk across the river to Wadebridge. Would recommend The Ship Inn, Gonvena Hill.
Wonderful stay in this fabulous cottage. A real home from home. Great location with lots of accessible beaches to walk the dog on. Enjoyed a lovely lunch at the Cornish Arms in St Merryn (dog friendly), followed by shopping in Padstow! Would recommend this lovely cottage to all friends and family.
Wonderful cottage that was cosy and comfortable and felt more like a home than a holiday cottage. Spotlessly clean and with everything you could want for a relaxing stay
The former market town of Wadebridge is another often-overlooked location, but is a great base for exploring many areas of Cornwall. The Camel Trail links it with Padstow and Bodmin, and it is also close to villages such as Polzeath and Rock. Wadebridge itself is a lively town boasting many amenities including a cinema, several local pubs which offer live music and good atmospheres, and a unique mix of local shops and businesses which make it stand out from many other small towns. The town's position on the Camel Estuary also makes it a good prospect for water-sports such as water-skiing, canoeing and sailing. Another talking point is the town's recently-acquired status as one of the country's foremost 'eco-towns' -many local people are advocates of renewable energy such as wind and solar power. This is largely down to the work of the Wadebridge Renewable Energy Network, whose aim is to make the town the first in Britain to be fully powered by renewable energy. Plenty of events take place in Wadebridge and surrounding area throughout the year, including the Royal Cornwall Show, and the popular Wadebridge Folk Festival. There is also a beer festival in June, and The Big Lunch, a street party organised by the town's residents.
