Local Area

St Columb is a lovely country village which enjoys a central location in Cornwall, being within around fifteen minutes' drive of many villages and towns in the local area, including Newquay, Wadebridge and Padstow. It is also around twenty minutes' drive from Truro, and if you fancy venturing further afield, is within an hour's drive of places such as Falmouth and St Ives. The surrounding area is not short on family attractions either, with the Cornish Birds Of Prey Centre just up the road, and other popular attractions such as Camel Creek Adventure Park (with a great selection of rides to keep kids of all ages amused, and lots of animals including pets corner and the ever popular Shire horses), and the Lappa Valley Railway, with plenty of diversions including crazy golf, a boating lake, play areas and nature trails. St Columb is now one of only two places in Cornwall (the other being St Ives) to keep up the ancient tradition of "hurling", a game where the whole town (split into two teams) participates, the aim being to carry the ball between two goals, which are two miles apart. The town also boasts a number of excellent pubs and restaurants, serving a variety of food whether you want pizza, fish and chips, Chinese takeaways or a good old Cornish cream tea.

Reviews

Best cottage we have EVER stayed in.Mr Paul Thompson - 22nd August 2017
Lovely cottage in perfect locationMiss S Harrington - 14th August 2017
A lovely little cottage and very private. It was good that the garden was dog proof so that we could let her out and know that she was safe. We really enjoyed walking through the fields to the stream and ponds. Thank you for the warm welcome and delicious scones and cream which were perfect after a long and hot journey, Thank you so much for everything.Mrs P Rands - 18th April 2017
The property is pleasing to the eye. It has been cared for. Well equipped with everything and more that you will need for your holiday. The owners are fantastic people and are on hand if you need them; but pretty much leave you to enjoy your holiday. Great place to stay. Close to Newquay. Whilst staying at the cottage we employed the services of Jo's Doggy Day-care - Excellent outstanding service.Ms J Baker - 27th August 2016

What a wonderful cottage to stay, we have just spent a week there with our dog (St Bernard). Could not fault it in any way, the owners are a lovely couple who have thought of everything you may need whilst there. Would definitely recommend if you are looking for somewhere to stay and relax.Mrs F - 25th July 2015
Drove down the drive to the cottage and first impressions we're what a wonderful place to spend a holiday. We were meet by the owner, who was very pleasant and helpful. When we got in side it got even better. It was all very clean,(first time I have stayed anywhere and not had to wash the plates etc). We took our dog and there is an area with the gates shut to walk around. Very handy for both the North and South coast. Would stay again. Well done to the owners.Mr F - 1st May 2015
