This cosy cottage is full of quirky features to make your holiday stay one that is extra special. Exposed beams, a roaring wood burner and country-style decor characterise the space and ensure you feel at home from the moment you step through the door. Situated in a quiet location in the Cornish countryside, yet just 9 miles from the coast, you can rest assured that you’ll get the very best of all this location has to offer from walking trails to awe-inspiring viewpoints.

All of the rooms are spread out over a single floor, with the open plan living room/kitchen/diner at the heart of it all. Here you’ll find comfortable seating across a sofa and two armchairs, a rustic wood burner and a Smart TV for your entertainment. Behind the living area is the compact, chic kitchen which has been finished to a high standard with impeccable attention to detail. Besides a light bright window is a round dining table seating four for mealtimes and board games. There are two bedrooms with Hypnos mattresses on offer in the cottage, with a gorgeous king-size bedroom boasting a wall-mounted Smart TV as well as a quaint single bedroom which is well suited to children. Both bedrooms share use of the relaxing bathroom with its sleek bathtub and separate shower cubicle. The living space continues outside where there are patio areas both to the front and rear and a lovely seating area in the former for balmy spring and summer evenings.

From the village, you can join the Camel Trail, a largely traffic-free route which runs for 18 miles through stunning moorland, ancient woodland and tranquil waterways. A walking route not to miss whilst staying in the area is the South West Coast Path, which you can join 9 miles away in Port Isaac after stopping off for a bite to eat at one of the independent cafes in the village. Find yourself exploring the Mediterranean or rainforest climates at the Eden Project (19 miles) where the interactive exhibits, tropical plant life and adrenaline-inducing zip line ensure there’s something to please all guests who visit.

Snappers Cottage stands in an ideal location commanding spectacular views across the Camel Valley. It was cleaned to a very high standard and has everything we needed to make our stay perfect. I would highly recommend Penrose Burden Cottages and we hope to return.

As we were tourists from Australia, it is unlikely we will stay there again, but we will recommend it to friends and family.

Our second visit, this time for 3 weeks. The owners are lovely and the cottage was perfect for 2 of us. We love, love, love the peace and quiet (and watching the lambs). Fabulous coastal walks, golf, scenery. A real tonic for the soul. Look forward to coming back some day.

The perfect retreat. Marvellous aspect, evert detail (and more) has been thought of to make the cottage welcoming with lovely decor and fittings. The cream tea & goodies were delicious. Thank you both so much also for being helpful when needed.

We expected 100% cotton sheets as these should be standard in any accommodation and particularly with the price charged. The sheets provided resulted in poor sleep quality. The other nuisance was the neighbours dog who was allowed to roam free (& into the unsecured seating area) which meant we couldnt relax on the front seating area. Yet guests arRead moree banned from even walking on the neighbours drive to access the main road which would have been helpful. Otherwise we had a really lovely stay. Hide

Die Unterkunft war unglaublich sauber. Die Eigentmer waren unglaublich nett, es gab einen tollen Willkommensgru mit leckeren Dingen aus der Region. Die Beschreibung war identisch mit dem was vor Ort war.
