Description
Hetty's was recently converted from a lovely old barn and now offers guests a high quality cottage getaway in the beautiful North Cornwall countryside. Situated in the little farm hamlet of Trenarlett, Hetty's is extremely comfortable with a superking size luxury bed, large powerful walk-in shower, cosy lounge with woodburning stove and big comfy sofa, well equipped kitchen and good sized private enclosed garden. Perfect for couples to enjoy both the peaceful location and all that Cornwall has to offer. Stunning scenic walks or horse riding on Bodmin Moor, walking/cycling the Camel Trail and a choice of several great village pubs to refuel in afterwards are all just minutes away. Cornwall's spectacular coast path, a huge choice of lovely beaches (many dog friendly) and all the favourite places to visit such as Padstow, Port Isaac, Boscastle, Tintagel, Rock, Polzeath, Eden, many stunning gardens, Haywards cider farm and award winning Camel Valley vineyard are all within a short drive. Many guests take day trips a little further, such as down to St Ives, The Lizard and St Michael's Mount as, once you are here, the whole county is really accessible and offers something for everyone no matter what the weather or time of year. Local Area
If ever there was a place to fully appreciate the stark beauty of the Cornish landscape, Bodmin Moor has to be it. With endless sweeping vistas in every direction, tumbled outcrops of granite, and inviting paths and tracks to explore, this area of Cornwall is a walker's paradise. The famous Jamaica Inn is sited here, with all its literary and historical associations. With plenty of sheep and moorland ponies wandering freely (be sure to keep your dog under control!) you can almost imagine you have been transported back to those bygone days. More recently, of course, the moor was used extensively for filming on the new adaptation of Poldark. When the dashing Mr Poldark gallops across your screen, you may well be seeing the scenery of the moor in the background. A large part of the moor has been designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest. This region also has its fair share of Arthurian legends, another facet which lends a mysterious air to the landscape, and an extra depth to Cornwall's rich and varied history, and of course who can forget the rumours of the Beast of Bodmin Moor? The many other attractions, including the National Trust's Lanhydrock House, the verdant and flourishing Tamar Valley, historic sites such as castles, the Bodmin and Wenford Railway, and plenty of evidence of Cornwall's mining legacy, make this area a must-see.
