The stone barn conversion has a reverse-level layout and has many of its original features, along with homely touches – such as underfloor heating - to make your stay as comfortable as possible. On the ground floor, you’ll find the three elegant bedrooms, one of which has an en-suite shower room. The family bathroom is also located on this floor. Upstairs, an open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner is the ideal place for spending quality time together, trying new recipes in the stylish kitchen area, dining at the farmhouse-style table, or relaxing in front of the wood burner. A tranquil, enclosed courtyard provides the perfect place for a BBQ at the end of the day. Guests are welcome to explore the extensive shared grounds, including a stretch of the River Camel where anglers can enjoy a spot of fishing (a rod licence will need to be purchased).
The traditional market town of Wadebridge (5 miles) has some lovely independent shops to explore, selling local produce and arts and crafts. After a potter around its winding, narrow streets, pop into one of the historic pubs to refuel. The nearby stretch of coastline is renowned for its magnificent, sandy beaches. For surfing, head to Polzeath (12 miles) or Constantine Bay (16 miles), or for sandcastle building and paddling, you can’t go wrong at the family favourite of Harlyn Bay (17 miles).
