From high above the Fowey Estuary this comfortable cottage enjoys breathtaking views. With plenty of space and easy parking, it’s an ideal base for couples, friends or families, plus a canine companion, to explore beaches and coastal paths, quaint towns and villages and Cornwall’s many impressive attractions.
Watch the boats coming and going on the glistening waters as you relax in the welcoming lounge. A wood-burner-effect electric fire will add to the cosy feeling in the winter, and there’s a TV and DVD to keep you entertained - if you can tear your eyes away from the views. The kitchen is spacious and bright, with a breakfast table for four. To seat six, or for more formal meals, head into the separate dining room. Two of the three bedrooms are on the ground floor - a double with sea views and a twin - as well as a bathroom with a shower over the bath. There’s another twin bedroom, with exposed beams and a high window, on the first floor. At the front of the cottage, as well as parking for two cars, there’s a level garden with a well-kept lawn and mature hedging.
Wander the steeply sloping streets and steps of picturesque Polruan, perhaps indulging with a drink or meal at the café or one of the pubs. There’s also a village store, and for more supplies you can take the foot ferry across to Fowey, a chic coastal town where you’ll find a range of places to eat and drink, shops and art galleries. Walk a mile along the coast path and you’ll reach Lantic Bay and its dog-friendly, sandy beach; other nearby beaches include Readymoney Cove, 4.5 miles, and Polkerris, 6 miles. The renowned Eden Project is 15 miles, and The Lost Gardens of Heligan 25 miles.
