Shops, cafes and Padstow’s excellent seafood restaurants are within a 0.5-mile stroll downhill towards the busy working harbour and its colourful fishing boats. Jump aboard the veteran Jubilee Queen (dogs are welcome) for a scenic guided tour along the coast, with possible sightings of sunbathing seals, friendly dolphins and other marine wildlife. Improve your watersports skills at the surf school at dog-friendly Harlyn Bay (3 miles). The golden, sandy beach is one of several family favourites within easy reach on this lovely stretch of coast. Support local fishing communities with a visit to Padstow’s National Lobster Hatchery, where you can adopt a baby lobster.
