Property code: OC-P00249

A delightful barn conversion in a peaceful rural setting is just a mile from the sea at picturesque Padstow. Sleeping four guests, the stone-built cottage exudes character and charm, with beams and a vaulted ceiling. Up to four pets are welcome, with dog-friendly beaches such as Harlyn Bay within easy reach. This thoughtfully furnished holiday home is the perfect base for families or friends planning to explore the delights of North Cornwall’s magnificent coast. You can walk to Padstow along a footpath close to the cottage, and the historic fishing port has a wealth of attractions.

The light and airy lounge/diner houses comfortable seating below a vaulted ceiling. A wood burner, art on the walls and a pretty dining area enhance the cosy atmosphere, with patio doors giving lovely countryside views towards the sea. Completing the ground floor is a country-style kitchen with low-level sink, and double bedroom with an en-suite wet room (with fold-down rail, grab rails, and call assistance button). A spiral staircase leads to a spacious first-floor twin bedroom and galleried landing overlooking the lounge. Outside is a spacious patio to the front with garden furniture, and a large area of lawn to the rear. Guests can use the field outside the lounge patio doors when there are no livestock grazing.

A short stroll down Padstow’s narrow streets leads to the busy working harbour, lined with colourful fishing boats. Buy a catch of the day or enjoy a meal at one of Rick Stein’s renowned seafood restaurants. Embark on one of the many boat trips offered at the quayside; they include wildlife sea safaris and a voyage along the spectacular North Cornish coastline aboard the veteran Jubilee Queen. Hire a bike or walk along the Camel Trail and admire beautiful estuary and country views. Enjoy sand, surf and splendid walks at Harlyn Bay (3 miles) and Trevone Bay (2 miles).

Spacious cottage. Convenient location half a mile outside of Padstow. Comfortable beds. It was lovely to be able to take our 3 dogs on holiday with us. We appreciated the securely fenced patio garden and gated car parking. Had an enjoyable holiday despite poor weather.

Generally okay, some details could be given to overall cleanliness and state of crockery & glasses. Clearer instructions on use of outside areas would be helpful. Unfortunately I felt I was putting my life in my hands every time I left the property due to no pavements, no clear sight as on a bend and speed of the road

The cottage was lovely, clean and spacious enough for 4 adults and 4 dogs. Close to Padstow and even closer to Tesco. Honestly we had such a good stay there. Doggos loved the field that was for our use only through the stay. The kitchen and rooms were well equipped which we used for cooking on few occasions. Honestly I would definitely recommend.

Cottage was good but a few things let it down. Dusty, cobwebby, unironed and bobbly bed linen. Crockery has to be washed before use as dirty. No outside furniture as stated on the website.

Lovely location, a stone's throw away from Padstow centre. Plenty of room for two adults and 3 dogs, with a secure garden. However, the barn is looking tired in places; mismatched furniture, bedding and chipped crockery. No garden furniture available, despite this being shown on the website pictures.

The Cottage was nice and comfy, great beds. The kitchen however does need updating i.e. new frying pans etc, also the oven smelled very greasy so we didn't use it.

Unfortunately the property does not have a wheelchair accessible shower chair. Elements of the property need to be updated, bed linen and towels for example as these are well used. Not ideal property for wheelchair users independently.

We would recommend the cottage proving the above issues are resolved. The bed was very comfortable.
