Property code: OC-P00473

Pack up your children, their friends and your dogs and head to this beautiful holiday home in Cornwall for a break. Situated slightly west of Bodmin Moor, this stone cottage is the perfect place for a family trip where you can enjoy the sea, explore the moors and learn about the local legends.

Enter the property to find a lounge with an electric fire set in the exposed brick. It’s the ideal spot for relaxing after a long walk or hosting an evening of board games. To the rear you’ll see French doors leading to the garden, and at the front is a bay window with a nook. There’s a dining room with a wood burner so you can feel cosy as you tuck into a hearty meal, and notice the wooden beams, a nod to the building’s history. Get cooking in the kitchen, clear and bright with everything you might need to prepare meals. Upstairs you’ll find three bedrooms. There’s one twin room, one bunk bedroom with ensuite WC and a super-king room with a four-poster bed and plenty of natural light. Finally, head to the garden for a stretching lawn, enclosed with a wooden fence and some bushes, which ends in a small dining area with a picnic table.

As you’re on the edge of Bodmin Moor, you’ll find plenty to explore. The area has lots of wildlife, legends and ruins, including King Arthur’s Hall (4 miles) and Trippet Stone Circle (3 miles). Look out for wild ponies and perhaps see if you can spot the Beast of Bodmin Moor. For more history, take a day trip to Tintagel (11.5 miles), the supposed location of King Arthur’s birth. The town is situated along the coast, so go for a splash on Trebarwith Beach (13 miles), which welcomes dogs.

Lovely old cottage in a beautiful village. It was comfortable for both us and our dogs. The pub next door is dog friendly as is the local shop.

Lovely, spacious, well equipped cottage with a super new bathroom and kitchen. Situated in a quaint village in central Cornwall making it ideal for visiting lots of places and with a lovely pub next door. The negatives were, the garden is very overgrown and neglected, none of the windows open which makes it very hot and stuffy.

This is a very spacious and comfy cottage, conveniently located between the north and south coasts of Cornwall, a short drive from attractions including Tintagel Castle, Port Isaac, The Eden Project and so on. I would definitely recommend this cottage to anyone looking to explore the eastern part of Cornwall.
