Immerse yourselves in St Ives life with a stay at this couples’ harbourside hideaway. Throw open the balcony doors for a breath of sea air as you enjoy downtime indoors, or stroll the street below for a choice of fabulous food, drinks and entertainment.

Located on the second floor of a traditional granite building above above the Rum and Crab Shack restaurant/bar which does have an entertainments licence to play live music until late, this comfortable apartment is accessed first by external steps and then a further flight of stairs internally. Once inside, you’ll find a light-filled open-plan living space where dual-aspect windows and a pair of fully glazed doors give great views across the wharf and water beyond. All the modern must-haves are here to make your holiday hassle-free, but for the ultimate laid-back break, there’s a popular bar/restaurant on the ground floor of the building. When the day is done, a comfortable double bedroom beckons – a shower room serves to kick-start your mornings.

Just a few steps from your holiday bolthole, St Ives Harbour has a soft, sandy beach at low tide while the wharf that edges it is home to bustling shops, pubs, cafes and galleries. Cobbled streets lead across town to other pristine beaches, the grassy Island headland and the iconic Tate St Ives gallery – you’ll never be bored! Hop on a boat excursion and you’ll get a fresh new view of this favourite holiday hot spot; if you’d prefer to stay on dry land, the historic mining town of St Just is 15 miles away and Land’s End is a further 6 miles on. Romantic St Michael’s Mount is off the coast of Marazion, less than 10 miles away. 1 Copper Kettle Apartment is situated on the busy harbour front of St Ives above the lively Rum and Crab Shack bar and restaurant which holds an entertainment license and plays live music until midnight, regularly hosting Jazz, Blues and DJ nights. When I booked I knew it wouldnt be a peaceful stay as below is music every night..if your someone who doesn't mind noise until midnight or take ear plugs then it's fine but I wouldn't recommend for someone who wants a completely relaxing stay the positive side is the balcony is great and your right on the front.

Please do not ignore the bad reviews - I did not heed them- we have never left a bad review before - but I need to warn you: the noise from the bar beneath the apartment was understated (in the previous reviews) we love St.Ives and realised it would be noisy during the summer but never imagined how bad it would be to stay in this apartment. If you Read morehave booked this I would suggest you cancel. The reviews regarding the noise were understated. There is no soundproofing- nothing between the ceiling of the bar and the floor of the apartment- all the walls act like an amplifier meaning you can not escape the constant sounds emitting from below- this reached 61 decibels on Saturday night within the apartment (the bar is know to locals as a nightclub on Friday/Saturdays- playing Ibiza type music- we did not experience the Friday because we had booked Sat-Thurs - we feel sorry for the person staying after us). The noise did not stop on closing - the staff played music whilst they cleared up until 1.30-2.30am and there is noise whilst opening early morning, and whilst alarms are being set. If they were to install soundproofing this would be a lovely apartment (although the showroom/toilet is tiny). I complained on the Sunday morning in the hope we could be moved to other accommodation to enable us to enjoy our holiday - but I was told the owner would not release us due to the statement in the listing warning it is above a bar with a music licence - this does not describe the reality of the extensive non stop noise from the base music and vibrations through the floor and all walls. Firstly the reason I wouldnt recommend staying here is if you want to have any form of sleep dont count on it there is a comment about the rum and crab shack below having live music on a weekend, however there is no mention of the constant blasting music throughout till 2/3am every single day which then begins again at 7am when the chefs get in. ThRead moree bar below clearly gives no damn about the fact they have guests above them. Theyd block the entrance daily with boxes, bikes and bin bags. I understand this is not related to the property but there is no mention of this commotion at all hours whatsoever which is the reason were annoyed as we paid a lot for the week. The shower leaks and the bathroom looks nothing like the photos. Its a shame because the location, living room, the bed are great. I stay yearly and this is the most disappointed Ive been as it was a week of no sleep for 750 Hide

Lovely location, beautiful view of st Ives harbor. However, after reading the reviews that were left before our stay we were surprised that the music and noise from the rum & crab underneath the apartment went on until 2.30am on Saturday and Sunday morning. Property is ideally situated right in the heart of St Ives. Exactly what I needed to be really close to the beaches and everything that St Ives has to offer. Is quite noisy until midnight, which was fine with me but might not suit everyone, after midnight it becomes lovely and quiet.
