Treat your family and friends to a break away in this exceptional cottage in the fishing village of Fowey where you can make the most of being close to the sea. The nearest beach, Readymoney Cove, is less than a mile away boasting a picturesque backdrop of woodlands and cliffs where swimming and sandcastle building can be enjoyed for hours on end. Back at your home-from-home, the open-plan living space has the ‘wow’ factor with its exposed beams and dramatic windows, making this a great place for relaxation and celebration.

Beneath the warm-hued exposed beams is the thoughtfully furnished living room, with two luxurious pastel blue sofas, a TV and dual-aspect views over the gardens and out to sea. Just steps away is the modern kitchen with a white tiled backsplash and white cabinets with all the equipment you’ll need to cook up a family feast. Dinner can be served up on the dining table, positioned to make the most of the views inside and out. The first of the bedrooms lies on the first floor, furnished with a king-size bed and enjoying an en-suite shower room. On the lower ground floor, you’ll find the remaining bedrooms, including a king-size room and a twin which is great for older children. These bedrooms share the use of the family bathroom, featuring a shower over the bath. Outside, the lawned garden is a fantastic social space, complete with a seating area, sun loungers and a BBQ for al fresco dining.

Whilst saying in this part of England, a walk along the South West Coast Path is a must, be it a few miles or an all-day activity. Take the route towards Looe which stretches 10 miles or venture off in the opposite direction to find the sands of Carlyon Bay (6 miles) or Porthpean (5 miles) for a picturesque pathway with plenty of great places to stop off for a picnic or spot of pub grub. Plant lovers will relish the opportunity to visit the Eden Project (7 miles) to wander through the Mediterranean and rainforest biomes, as well as to learn more about the wonderful world we live in through their interactive exhibits and informative trails. The picturesque fishing village of Charlestown is close to Eden, famed for it's Disney film and Poldark film sets, it offers a quaint walk around an old working village complete with square rig sail ships (when they're not busy filming) and in the summer some great fish based street food.

In a central location, this is an amazing place to stay with fabulous views overlooking the river from both cottage and garden (which is well maintained). Outdoor facilities include table and chairs, sun loungers and barbecue. And no through-traffic to disturb your sleep. Well stocked kitchen with every comfort you can think of, with a thoughtfulRead more welcome pack upon arrival. Due to its elevated position the cottage steps are a bit steep, but thankfully not too many. We experienced a memorable Father's Day on the Fowey to Meva ferry where we were fortunate to see Risso dolphins and a sun fish. And during our stay we were contacted by the owners who provided helpful tips on how to stay cool during the hot weather. Most welcome. Hide

For the first time in over 30 years of renting Cottages in Devon & Cornwall, we gave up on this one before we had even moved in. The suggestion that it is possible to unload anywhere even remotely near the property on a Saturday afternoon is "optimistic" in the extreme.

Our first stay at Yardarm Cottage but we will no doubt be back again! We have had a fantastic two-week stay and found the property offered us the perfect setting for our holiday in Fowey. Location is excellent and we enjoyed being right in the centre of the town. The facilities at the property were excellent with no issues and we spent a good few eRead morevenings in and cooking when we did not want to eat out. Highly recommended, and we thought the communications ahead of our stay from Original Cottages were very clear and spot on. Hide
