Explore the delights of North Cornwall with this welcoming lodge as your base. The perfect size for couples or small families, it’s set on a family-owned holiday park. In just 2 miles you can reach the charming village of St Merryn, with its traditional pub owned by TV chef Rick Stein. All the famous ‘Seven Bays for Seven Days’ are reachable within about 5 miles, with Harlyn Bay Beach (3.5 miles) considered one of the best for families in Cornwall, offering wide, sheltered sand with rock pools, gentle waves for novice surfers and seasonal lifeguard cover. Head into Padstow (4.5 miles) and discover its shops and excellent places to eat. Here you can also book a sea safari or hire a bike and pedal along the Camel Trail to Wadebridge (11.5 miles). For another fun day out, Camel Creek Family Adventure Park is only 3.5 miles away.
Take four steps up and enter your new home from home. You’ll immediately notice how light and bright it feels, thanks to the numerous windows and the glazed doors that lead to the deck. The sociable, open-plan space includes a lounge area with plush seating and bright spots of colour that add to the cosy feel. After a day outdoors this is a welcoming space in which to relax, and the Smart TV means you can keep little ones entertained while you make supper, or enjoy a favourite movie together. The kitchen area is well set up for holiday cooking, featuring a microwave and an air fryer, and there’s a dining table with room for four where you can linger over your meals. When you’re ready for a good night’s sleep, head to the lodge’s two bedrooms: a double with ample storage and a dressing area, and a twin with 2’6” beds (suitable for children). They share a Jack and Jill bathroom, and there’s also a handy separate WC. While there is no washing machine in the lodge, the site has a shared launderette which is open year-round.
In good weather slide back the patio doors and head out to your wraparound deck, where you can sink into the hot tub and soak for hours, or simply lounge on the furniture with a good book as you enjoy the fresh sea air. You’ll have two off-road parking spaces by the lodge. The site also has a shared area for BBQs, a children’s play park, and a seasonal shop and bar/cafe.
