You’ll easily slip into holiday mode at this stunning meadow hideaway, tucked away down a little lane in the Cornish countryside. With separate spaces for relaxing and sleeping, it’s a lovely choice for a solo visitor or a romantic escape for two. Head to Mawgan Porth (8.5 miles) for beach days, cafes and restaurants, or explore Crantock (9.5 miles), stopping for coffee and pizza after an afternoon stroll. Watergate Bay and Newquay’s beaches (9 miles) are tempting starting points for coastal walks past beautiful bays and coves, while foodie haven Padstow (12.5 miles) has a bustling harbour, independent shops, galleries and excellent eateries. From here, hire bikes to explore the Camel Trail, pausing in Wadebridge (12 miles) for a bite to eat before pedalling back. For a change of coast, the sailing town of Fowey (18 miles) and the harbour village of Mevagissey (15 miles) are both within easy reach.

Before following the steps up to the decking, take a moment to savour the shepherd’s hut’s unique design and the peaceful surrounding scenery, which set the tone for a one-of-a-kind stay. Slide open the glass doors and step into the main hut to find a light-filled space with cheerful decor. Here, soft seating invites you to sit back and savour the rural views. When stomachs rumble, the kitchenette features everything needed for preparing light meals and picnics for the day ahead. Your dining space is out on the decking, set beneath a cover for al fresco meals whatever the weather. Back in the main hut, you’ll also find a smart shower room. At the end of each day away, cross the decking to the restful sleeping hut, where a 4ft double bed sits beneath a curved, wood-clad ceiling.

The outside space and wider facilities are among the highlights of the property. In your private space, sink into the outdoor furnishings, freshen up in the outdoor shower, gather around the fire pit, and unwind in the hot tub. Beyond, guests are invited to explore the shared gardens and make full use of the excellent on-site experiences. Book a session in the sauna and cold-water plunge pool, get competitive in the games room with a dartboard and pool table, or enjoy an art workshop covering painting, printing, sketching and collage, with the added bonus of a cream tea. Private parking for one car completes the offering.
