Big group holidays call for plenty of space, and this Scandinavian-style lodge delivers exactly that. The eight-person property is tucked away in a peaceful valley on a 23-acre Coombe meadow private estate, making it a brilliant choice for family celebrations or long-overdue reunions. Meet the resident deer and join in the morning feeding of smaller animals on the site. When it's time to venture out, head for the Camel Trail (1 mile) for 18 miles of walking and cycling through beautiful countryside to Padstow. St Breward (1.5 miles) has a welcoming pub and café, while St Tudy (3 miles) is home to a village shop. Wander around the pretty harbour and famous filming locations of Port Isaac (9 miles), spend sunny afternoons surfing or paddling at Trebarwith Strand (9 miles). Come nightfall, you're on the edge of Bodmin Moor, a designated Dark Sky Reserve that's made for stargazing.

Made from timber inside and out, this gorgeous home has soaring ceilings and generous windows that create a wonderful sense of light and space. The open-plan kitchen, dining and living area with Smart TV is perfect for spending happy holiday time together, and there’s a crackling wood burner to keep you all cosy all year. On the ground floor, you'll find a twin bedroom and a zip-and-link king, which can be arranged as a twin on request. There’s also a single bedroom and a family bathroom with a shower over the bath and WC. Head upstairs to a peaceful king-size suite with its own en-suite shower room, along with an adjoining toddler room with a low-level tractor bed and cot – ideal for parents with young children. Little imaginations can run wild in the playroom, packed with toys.

Outside, doors open out onto the large enclosed veranda where you can sit with a cuppa, watching the estate's animals grazing peacefully in the valley. Steps lead down to the lawns and towards the river, with one of the estate's play areas close by for even more family fun. On the site, younger explorers will love the wildlife trail, welly walk and fairy garden, while grown-ups can spend time in the indoor gym and games room with air hockey, table football and pool. Parking for two cars is available in the car park behind the lodge.
