Watergate Bay's 2 miles of sand are popular with families, surfers, and thrill seekers. Facing the open Atlantic, incoming swell makes it an excellent spot for surfing, kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, and kite surfing – a surf school on the beach offers lessons in all four. The coast path runs in both directions, with routes north to Mawgan Porth and south towards Newquay's seven bays, tracing dramatic clifftop scenery along the way. Surf competitions and vibrant music festivals run throughout the year, and a choice of beachfront restaurants and bars lines the bay.

Patio doors in the open-plan living area open onto the full-width balcony with its sea views, flooding the space with natural light. A leather armchair and double sofa bed sit around the TV with SkyTV, and a DVD player. Between the living area and the well-equipped kitchen, a dining table with four chairs creates a sociable spot for mealtimes. The double bedroom has a zip-and-link bed that can be configured as a king-size or arranged as twin beds, giving flexibility depending on the group. The bathroom has a shower over the bath, a WC, and a heated towel rail.
