Travel as a pack of up to five humans and one lucky hound to this cliffside property, part of a small complex, in Watergate Bay. It’s ideal for a family or group of friends looking for a deluxe pad close to a beach offering watersports and breathtaking Atlantic views. There’s plenty to do on site, or the rest of the North Cornwall coast awaits the adventurous…

This cleverly designed property seamlessly marries high-specification fixtures and fittings with comfort and practicality. The open-plan living space is on the first floor, taking full advantage of the tranquility, plus coastline and sea views through the sliding doors, out onto a spacious balcony. This room is carefully zoned into a sumptuous lounge area, with a dining table and well-equipped kitchen on the other side. The flexible sleeping accommodation is downstairs, with an en-suite, king-size bedroom plus single truckle bed. The second bedroom has a zip-and-link bed that can either be arranged as a super-king-size or two singles. Both bedrooms have access to the ground floor patio area plus a storeroom for outdoor gear. Meanwhile, the full-width balcony on the first floor is fully furnished to take in those views.

The beach at Watergate Bay is easily accessed, just 250 metres down the cliff, offering Atlantic waves perfectly suited to surfers, kite surfers and kayakers. In fact, there’s a surf school on the beach if you want to learn or refresh your knowledge. There are restaurants and pubs by the beach, too. Or grab the dog lead and enjoy the dramatic clifftop scenery of the South West Coast Path, taking you to Newquay 3.5 miles southwards and towards Mawgan Porth just under 2 miles north. There are surf competitions or music festivals at certain times, so check ahead, if that’s likely to bother your group.

A well designed lodge in an excellent location. Parking was close, although quite tight for modern cars. The walk to the beach very easy with a good amount of amenities near by.
