The main hub of this luxury home is the impressive open-plan living area, which occupies the ground floor. It has bi-fold doors along one side and sliding doors at the front, framing panoramic sea views and filling the open-plan space with fresh coastal air. After tiring days out surfing, it’s a joy to stretch out on the large sofa beside the wood burner. There’s a wooden dining table for sharing meals, along with a breakfast bar on the L-shaped kitchen island. The ground-floor bedrooms both have super-king-size zip-and-link beds: one has an en-suite shower room with a walk-in shower and WC, while the other shares a Jack and Jill shower room with the hallway. Upstairs, the main double bedroom has an en-suite shower room with a walk-in shower and WC, and a mezzanine living area overlooking the space below. This peaceful hideaway enjoys another wonderful ocean outlook and is accessed through a secret bookshelf door. To reach the fourth bedroom, containing three double bunk beds, head down to the lower ground floor. This room has sliding doors opening onto an outdoor path, and is served by a family shower room with a walk-in shower and WC. Out the front of the property is a sea-facing patio with a dining table and two sun loungers for meals in the sunshine. A large surf store with wetsuit hanging space is accessible from the bunk bedroom or through a separate side gate. There is one parking space immediately outside, and two allocated spaces a further 20 metres away.
From the property, follow the flower-lined path down to Gwithian Beach, then enjoy miles of golden sand extending towards Godrevy Beach (2.5 miles) and its much-loved lighthouse, perched proudly on a rocky outcrop. The bay is popular with surfers and its flat, open sands are also ideal for flying kites and horse riding – you may even spot ponies cantering through the shallows. Birdwatchers can visit the Hayle Estuary and Saltings nature reserve (4.5 miles), where murmurations are a particular highlight during spring and autumn. Carbis Bay and St Ives are both 7.5 miles away by car, or reachable via a scenic train journey along the coast.
