Back in Hayle, the Saltings nature reserve is a prime birdwatching spot for murmurations during the shoulder months. The town also has a watersports centre, and the swimming pool is 100 metres from the apartment. Carbis Bay and St Ives are accessible by train on the scenic coastal route.
