On arrival, leave one car in the shared car park and take the lift to the apartment. Porth Beach is one of the area’s favourites, and you can reach it in around 250 metres from your doorstep. It features a sweep of sand, mermaid pools, hidden coves and a wooden footbridge that leads over to Porth Island. From here, follow the coast path up to Watergate Bay (2 miles), another popular spot with great waves for surfing. Find even more quality waves on the opposite side of Newquay, making your way to Fistral Beach (2.5 miles), arguably the UK’s prime surfing location.
