This contemporary, four-bedroom house rises over four floors and is set less than 100 metres from the sands of Porth Beach on the North Cornwall coast. Families and groups of friends looking for a coastal holiday of surfing, rock pooling, and beach exploration are well placed here. Porth Beach is sheltered between two headlands, with rock pools, caves, streams, and a broad sweep of sand to explore. A narrow wooden footbridge crosses to Porth Island – also known as Trevelgue Head – a headland rich in history where a blowhole sends dramatic rainbow sprays of water skyward at mid-tide. The coast path runs north towards Watergate Bay (2 miles) and south to Lusty Glaze Beach (0.5 miles). The wider coastal path connects Newquay's string of bays (1.5 miles) to the rolling clifftops towards Mawgan Porth (4 miles).
The first floor is made up of an open-plan living, kitchen, and dining space. Soft seating is arranged around a Smart TV, with wide doors opening onto a private balcony where sea views stretch into the distance. The dining area seats up to eight around a wooden table, and a kitchen island with three breakfast bar stools provides a more relaxed spot to eat. A door from the kitchen leads directly out to the garden. Up on the second floor, the master bedroom has a super-king-size bed, its own balcony with sea views, and an en-suite shower room. The second bedroom, on the same floor, has a super-king-size zip-and-link bed that can be arranged as two singles, with a garden view and an en-suite shower room. Down on the ground floor, a third bedroom with a super-king-size zip-and-link bed – which can also be arranged as two singles – has direct access to a private patio. A fourth bedroom has a bunk bed with a double on the lower level and a single on top. The ground-floor family bathroom has a free-standing bath, a separate walk-in rainfall shower, and a WC. On the lower ground floor, a utility room houses the washing machine and dryer.
The private garden is accessible from the side of the house and the kitchen, with outdoor furniture and seating for twelve. A ground-floor patio provides an additional outdoor space, and a hot-and-cold outdoor surf shower is fitted for rinsing off after the beach. Storage for surfboards and paddleboards runs along the side of the house, with further secure storage for bikes and boards in the garage, where a dartboard and table tennis table provide indoor games. There is private parking for two cars on the driveway, which is steep.
