Property code: OC-B584435

This five-bedroom beach house sits between deep green Cornish farmland and the Atlantic shoreline at Watergate Bay, 400 metres from 2 miles of sand. With space for groups, families, and couples, the property is well placed for a holiday centred on the beach and the water – the bay's exposure to Atlantic swell makes it an excellent spot for surfing, bodyboarding and kite surfing, with a surf school right on the sand. The coast path stretches in both directions, connecting to Newquay's seven bays in one direction and Mawgan Porth in the other, while Bedruthan Steps offers a dramatic coastal viewpoint along the same trail. Shoreside restaurants and cafes serve fresh local seafood and wood-fired pizza. Music festivals and surf competitions run throughout the year, adding a lively pulse to this stretch of Cornwall's north coast.

A covered glass cloister wraps around the living areas and bedrooms, filling the single-storey layout with natural light through skylights and glass panels. Natural stone flooring runs through the hallways, and local Cornish artwork is displayed throughout. An open-plan living space centres on a wood burner and Smart TV, with Sonos surround sound and concealed LED lighting. A separate family room sits behind glass walls at the heart of the house – a den with its own Smart TV, Sonos system, and bean bags, with a double sofa bed for additional sleeping space. The kitchen centres on an island unit, with a large dining table beneath pendant feature lights. All five bedrooms are on the same level, each with a super-king-size zip-and-link bed and sliding doors opening onto the courtyard garden. In the master bedroom, an en-suite bathroom has a bath, walk-in rainfall shower, and WC. Each of the four remaining bedrooms has an en-suite shower room with walk-in rainfall shower and WC. A family bathroom with bath, walk-in rainfall shower, and WC serves the wider house, alongside an additional WC and utility room.

The Mediterranean courtyard garden is enclosed by the glass cloister, with sliding door access from every bedroom at ground level. A grass lawn extends beyond, with views across the fields, a curved seating area, and a sunken fire pit. The large roof terrace – accessed via steps – is furnished with rearrangeable sofas and inbuilt Sonos speakers. A second dining table sits just outside the main living area for al fresco dining, and an outdoor shower is provided. The property features a wildflower roof, air-source heating, and extensive solar panels. Private parking is available for three cars, with an electric vehicle charging point on site.
