This coastal cabin sits above the dramatic sweep of Whitsand Bay on the south Cornwall coast, set well back from the road in an almost hidden, peaceful position. A romantic retreat for couples, it is made for quiet, unhurried breaks beside the sea. Whitsand Bay is a wide, sweeping arc of coastline with a long sandy beach backed by high cliffs and dotted with craggy rocks – a stretch of coast that feels far removed from the pace of everyday life. The beach is 250 metres from the property, reached by crossing the coast road and taking the cliff path. Cawsand and Kingsand (3 miles), with cafes, shops, and surf hire, sit along the coast to the east, while Plymouth (9 miles) offers theatres, cinemas, restaurants, and a full range of city attractions. To the west, the seaside town of Looe (13 miles) has seafood restaurants and pubs.
Full-width bi-fold glass doors open across the front of the cabin, filling the open-plan living area with natural light and framing the sea views. The sitting area looks down the coastline and out to sea, with a living flame stove providing a warm focal point and a TV and DVD player for quieter moments. A dining table set for two sits alongside the kitchen area, creating and easy space for relaxed meals. The open-plan layout connects the kitchen, dining, and sitting areas in one continuous space, with the sea view drawing the eye from every angle. The double bedroom leads off the living area and looks out across open countryside, hills, and valleys – a completely different but equally striking view. Its en-suite shower room has a shower enclosure and a WC, heated towel rail and an external door opening directly onto the garden.
The large terrace overlooks the sea and has outdoor chairs, a sofa, a chimenea, and a gas BBQ. A surf shower sits to the side for rinsing off after the beach, and the utility room has a washer/dryer and storage space for beach kit. The cliff path to the beach is steep, narrow, and uneven. Private off-road parking is available for two cars.
