Bring family or friends together at this detached house in Tregurrian, which makes a brilliant base for an action-packed break on the North Cornwall coast. With the beautiful Watergate Bay at the foot of the lane (0.5 miles), you’ll have sandy days, Atlantic adventures and dramatic coastal scenery right on your doorstep.
The hub of this modern home is a generous open-plan living space combining a lounge, kitchen and dining area. Two sofas face a Smart TV, while two sets of patio doors lead out to the garden and fill the room with natural light. There’s a dining table with space for six, along with a breakfast bar with two stools for perching with coffees and quick bites. You’ll also have a separate WC located on the ground floor. When it’s time to turn in for the evening, head upstairs to three bedrooms – a king-size bed with an en-suite shower room with a rainfall shower and WC, plus a second king-size bedroom, served by the family bathroom with a bath and WC. The third bedroom has a double bed, along with built-in bunk beds. This room has its own en-suite with a rainfall shower and WC. Outside, the private enclosed garden gives you plenty of room to relax, enjoy al fresco meals and evening drinks and there’s a hot outdoor shower for washing away sand and salt after the beach. There’s parking for two cars on the driveway.
Watergate Bay’s 2-mile beach attracts surfers and thrill-seekers throughout the year, thanks to the incoming Atlantic swell. A local surf school runs lessons in surfing, kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding and kitesurfing, while music festivals and surf competitions add to the lively atmosphere. Hungry? Choose from a number of beachfront restaurants and cafes lining the shore. If you’re keen to get some miles under your belt, follow the South West Coast Path across dramatic clifftops towards Newquay’s seven bays (4 miles) in one direction or Mawgan Porth (2 miles) in the other, with miles of rugged coastline to explore.
