Come evening, sink into the sofas for a family film night while a bowl of buttery popcorn warms in the nearby kitchen. Underfloor heating warms chilly toes as you make your way to the contemporary king-size bedroom, where a TV and crisp linens set you up for cosy mornings with breakfast in bed. The living room also has two single sofa beds if you want to host guests. In the morning, enjoy a dip in the sea before returning home to a warm bath and hot coffee on the decking.
Pull on your wetsuit and head straight down to the surf each morning. Its two-mile stretch of sand is a favourite with surfers, kayakers and paddleboarders, while the local surf school is handy if you’re still finding your feet. For a break from the water, follow the South West Coast Path towards Mawgan Porth, keeping the Atlantic beside you as the path climbs above the cliffs. Save another day for Padstow (12 miles), where you can pick up fish and chips made with locally landed fish or a traditional Cornish pasty and eat beside the harbour. From here, hire bikes for a stretch of the Camel Trail or hop on the passenger ferry across the estuary to Rock.
