Make yourself at home at this dreamy clifftop apartment sitting in a smart development of holiday homes perched high above Porthtowan Beach on Cornwall's rugged Heritage Coast. With floor-to-ceiling sea views that stretch across the bay, and the South West Coast Path connecting to St Agnes and Perranporth in either direction, it sleeps four people across two bedrooms, and is perfect for small families or groups of friends who are searching for a stylish, surf-focused hideaway with a spectacular clifftop position. Wake up and hit the Porthtowan surf, or follow the South West Coast Path to St Agnes to see the ruined engine houses of Wheal Coates standing guard over the sea. In the evening, pull up a seat on the balcony, pour yourself a glass of wine, and watch the Atlantic breakers roll in below.
Pull up in your private parking spot and climb the 63 steps from the carpark up to your beachy ground-floor bolthole. Step inside and you'll find a bright and cheerful open-plan living/kitchen/dining space that runs almost the full width of the building. Patio doors lead onto the balcony, subtle coastal design touches create a boho-chic feel, and you have sea views through every window. Cook up a storm in the kitchen and bring everyone together at the dining table, where you can watch the surf while you eat. Alternatively, step through the patio doors and dine alfresco in the side courtyard, which has wonderful views over the bay. Afterwards, sink into the sofa in front of the Smart TV for movie night. When the day is done, two bedrooms with floor-to-ceiling sea views await - a master king-size with an en-suite shower room, and a twin with zip-and-link beds (can be arranged as a king-size on request). A smart family bathroom with a shower over the bath completes the layout. In the morning, head down to the building’s shared surf store, pick up your board and set off to the beach.
Stroll down the shared footpath to Porthtowan Beach (10 metres), where the Atlantic surf rolls in between the dramatic rock flanks of the bay. Hit the surf, or follow the South West Coast Path to St Agnes (3 miles) to see the clifftop ruins of Wheal Coates and browse the galleries in Trevaunance Cove. Alternatively, hike along the coastal path to Chapel Porth (2 miles) and explore the sea caves.
