Perched high above peaceful Mawgan Porth, this detached retreat is a lovely place to stay, with uninterrupted views across the Atlantic. With four bedrooms, the dog-friendly home has ample space for families and groups to enjoy a sociable beach break – and there’s even a yoga studio so you can continue your morning routine. Stretching out below is Mawgan Porth Beach (0.5 miles), a broad sweep of white sand with a shallow river winding across the shore.
On the ground floor of this beautiful home is a spacious living area with sliding patio doors framing sea and countryside views. There’s plenty of sofa space, along with an open fire and a Smart TV for relaxed evenings. From here, continue to the seven-seater dining area plus kitchen, with its three-stool breakfast bar and handy separate utility room. Also on this floor are three bedrooms – a king-size, a single and a bunk room with two single bunk beds for four guests (steps to upper bunks). There’s also a family bathroom with a shower over the bath and WC, plus a separate WC. Upstairs, the master suite has a super-king-size bed, its own sitting room, a private dressing room and an en-suite bathroom with a freestanding bath, rainfall shower and WC. You’ll have plenty of outside space, too, with a rear garden, ocean-facing patio and a table seating 12, plus a private hot tub and sauna. A separate garden building houses the yoga studio with a sofa, shower and fridge. The driveway has parking for three cars.
If you’re here for the surf, hit the waves directly or take lessons at the surf school on the beachfront street below. Keen walkers can follow the South West Coast Path along the clifftops to Watergate Bay (3 miles) in one direction and the dramatic rock stacks at Bedruthan Steps (2.5 miles) in the other. Back in the village, challenge your travel buddies to a round at the seasonal crazy golf or pitch and putt course (0.5 miles).
