Located in the historic fishing village of Mousehole, this cosy, dog-friendly cottage sleeps up to four guests and is the perfect coastal retreat for couples or small families. Wander through narrow lanes lined with fishermen’s houses and art galleries and walk just 60 metres to reach the harbour beach. Join the South West Coast Path to explore Lamorna Cove (2.5 miles) and the village of Newlyn (2 miles).
Formerly a fisherman’s cottage, this Grade 11-listed building retains much of its original charm. In the open-plan kitchen and lounge, exposed granite walls, beamed ceiling and wooden flooring are complemented by blue and neutral tones. A wood burner, comfortable sofa and armchair sit beside a cushioned window seat where you can watch the world go by. Gather around the extendable dining table with three chairs to enjoy family meals alongside the fully equipped kitchen. Climb the stairs to the two bedrooms and family shower room. On either side of the bed in the master bedroom are floating bedside tables and pendant lights, and white window shutters make for a cosy night’s sleep. The twin room has two single beds, one raised above the other, reading lamps and wooden window shutters. Enter the family shower room on the landing where there is a walk-in rainfall shower, underfloor heating and WC.
Standing on a cobbled lane, 60 metres from the harbour beach, this coastal cottage is in a prime position for exploring tidal rock pools and watching the fishing boats. Pretty lanes wind between local craft shops, art galleries and friendly cafes where you can while away the hours. Enjoy walks along the South West Coast Path to Newlyn (2 miles) and Lamorna Cove (2.5 miles) or venture 0.5 miles inland through open fields with views of Mount’s Bay to Paul village.
