Property code: OC-B611386

This two-bedroom fisherman's cottage sits on the seafront in Marazion, an ancient market town where a vast sandy beach stretches along the shore, and the tidal waters of Mounts Bay reach out to St Michael's Mount. With two bedrooms and the beach along the seafront, the cottage suits couples and small families looking for a coastal holiday. The mount itself rises from the bay – a castle-topped tidal island reached by a stone causeway at low tide or by National Trust boat when the water comes in. The South West Coast Path follows the seafront, with a flat, paved section running 3 miles to Penzance, home to the art-deco Jubilee Pool and Penlee Art Gallery. A branch line train from St Erth (4 miles) hugs the coastline to St Ives, and the Minack Theatre sits above Porthcurno Beach (15 miles) – a good spot to pack a picnic before heading to the sand.

The ground floor centres on an open-plan living and dining space, where two generous two-seater sofas face a Smart TV and an electric fire, all set against wide sea views across the bay. A Scandi-style dining table with four chairs sits alongside. The kitchen is in a separate room, accessed directly from the living area. Stairs lead to the first floor, where the master bedroom has a king-size bed, a dressing table, and unbroken views of St Michael's Mount and the surrounding bay. A spacious bathroom with a freestanding bath, heated towel rail, and WC is adjacent. The second bedroom also has a king-size bed – which can be arranged as a twin on request – with good views of the mount and the bay beyond. A contemporary shower room with a heated towel rail sits alongside, and a separate cloakroom with WC is next door. Some low doors and entryways are found in the property.

A decked patio is reached by fairly steep steps from the kitchen, offering a sheltered spot for eating outside with views across the bay. A restored outbuilding next to the back door houses the washing machine and freezer, and a separate restored building provides a hot shower for rinsing off after time on the beach. Luggage can be dropped off and collected at the front of the property, and roadside parking is available.
