Lace up your boots and take the coastal path west to St Ives Harbour (1.5 miles) - passing the golden strip of Porthminster Beach on the way – and then spend a glorious afternoon exploring the galleries, shops and eateries one of Cornwall's finest towns. In the evening, come home to your private garden terrace to fire up the BBQ and watch the stars appear over the bay.
Pull into the private driveway (there's room for three cars) and head inside your chic, reverse-level retreat, where you’ll find a cosy snug with a Smart TV, patio doors leading out into the rear garden, and a garage/games’ room with a ping pong table. A spiral staircase leads up to the main living level on the first floor – an impressive open-plan space with a vaulted ceiling and floor-to-ceiling glass doors that frame the wonderful sea views. Cook up a storm in the sleek kitchen area and host a stylish feast at the generous wooden dining table beside the floor-to-ceiling glass doors that overlook the garden. Alternatively, step out onto the rear balcony, which leads down to the large private lawned garden, to fire up the BBQ and dine alfresco at the table for ten. When the day is done a further spiral staircase (not suitable for children) from the main living level leads you to the enclosed mezzanine bedroom. Down on the ground floor, the super-king-size master bedroom has superb sea views and an en-suite bathroom with a freestanding bath and walk-in shower. There’s also a super-king-size zip-and-link bedroom with an en-suite shower room, and two further super-king-size zip-and-link bedrooms that share a smart family bathroom with shower over the bath. All the zip-and-link bedrooms can be arranged as twins on request. In the morning, wake up and stretch out on a sun lounger in the garden to enjoy your coffee.
Set off along the coastal path east to Porthkidney Beach (1.5 miles) to escape the crowds on its expansive stretch of tranquil sand, or head west along the shore into St Ives (1.5 miles) to explore the extraordinary Barbara Hepworth Sculpture Garden, browse the galleries and check out its excellent restaurants. Further afield, the wild headland at Cape Cornwall (9 miles) boasts some of the most dramatic coastal scenery in the west. Take a stroll along the cliff path above Brison’s Rocks and you’ll be rewarded with views along the coastline towards Land's End.
