Soak up the sunshine and salty air as you gaze out towards the sea from this Cornish retreat. Sleeping four guests, the two-bedroom apartment at Millendreath, 2.5 miles from Looe, is just 200 metres from the sandy beach, which nestles in a south-facing cove and has rockpools. Take in the view down the valley to the coast from the magnificent balcony at the property.

Climb over 70 steps up to this hideaway. Enter to find yourselves at the heart of the abode, an open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner where you can unwind and spend rare quality time with your friends or family. Prepare holiday snacks and meals in the kitchen area. Gather round the table to share your feasts over chilled wine or cold-pressed Cornish apple juice. Pull open the patio doors on hot summer days to bring in a sea breeze. Settle on the duck-egg blue sofas in front of the Smart TV, play a game or make plans for the following day. When you are ready to retire for the night, your two cheerful bedrooms await. Each with a seaside theme, both the double and the twin promise a superb night’s sleep. There is a family shower room here too. Amble out onto the large balcony to spend time out in the fresh air. Dine or sip a sundowner as you look out towards the water. Paid parking is available in a car park in front of the property.

Pick up the South West Coast Path and enjoy a pleasant 500-metre stroll to peaceful Plaidy Beach. For a longer walk, the golden sands of East Looe Beach are 1 mile away on foot. Head into Looe to explore the shops and choose between an array of eateries. Plan a day out to the fascinating Eden Project, 24 miles away, during your stay.

We had a wonderful, relaxing stay at Ocean Breeze Hillside, Millendreath. The location was very close to the Cornish Coastal Path which we used extensively when walking our German Shepherd to and from Looe. The beach was very close indeed and there are lovely sea views from the property. Because our stay was in September we were able to take our dRead moreog onto the beach at anytime during the day and evening (high summer you may only take them morning and evening). Be aware there are 73 steps up to the property which we found difficult with the suitcases, I took the cases out of the car and took them to the first set of steps where my husband picked them up and took them to the property; there is a 30 minute unloading parking limitation and therefore you need to be as quick as possible. Parking is available at the large car park which costs 20 per week. The property was very comfortable, very clean and cosy with 2 sofas, coffee table, side table, lamps, very nice to sit there in the evening, watch tv and recuperate after a full day of touristy things. The kitchen is very well equipped, it had everything we needed for cooking such as pans, cutlery, scales, plates etc, Good size fridge/freezer, washing machine, dishwasher and cooker. The bathroom (no bath) has a good shower, toilet and basin which was adequate for the two of us. The two bedrooms are compact with a small wardrobe in each, there wasn't enough hangers (but I picked up some free ones' in Looe), the double bed was so comfortable, medium firm pocket sprung where I had the best sleep in years which is unusual for me as I don't sleep well normally. There is a cafe/ bar and the pizza shack at the beach but no little shop to buy basics unfortunately, the nearest would be Nisa which is a mile away at the campsite. There is a Co-op in Looe and a Morrisons at Liskeard which takes about 15 minutes by car, as expected there are some very narrow roads with passing spaces. We were blessed with some very nice, sunny weather and so took advantage of sitting outside on the terrace. We would definitely stay again. Hide
