Kingfisher is a beautiful, comfortable cottage with everything provided. It is located on a quiet, secluded and gated estate, of around 30 similar properties which is very well maintained. The property is very handy to reach being just off the main A38 with no long winding country lanes and is a great base from which to explore. Kingfisher has had Read morea recent makeover, everything was spotless and new. Downstairs is open plan with a kitchen, dining and living room plus guest WC. Upstairs theres 2 spacious bedrooms with large wardrobes and a lovely bathroom. The kitchen is packed with everything you could want. The only outside space is a small patio to the front with table and BBQ which is a great spot for a cuppa and a book. The patio is fenced, but if your dog is an escape artist, keep watch that they dont go through the hedge. The hedge is formed of very tall fir trees which do block the view a bit. The property is accessed up a lot of steps, not suitable for any wheelchair or mobility scooter users but fine for us. windows face East, so not too hot indoors, With having linen provided and beds made for us, toiletries provided and a welcome gift, all was really special. Joanna the owner is lovely, she really made us feel so welcome. The standard was really high, eg quality appliances and a bladeless fan. I loved the Kingfisher references around the place. We treated ourselves to a trip to the health club with the membership provided as part of the holiday (a 10 minute drive away) and we were made to feel very welcome there also. We visited the pub just outside the estate, check with them for dinner as they stop serving early when its quiet, Kingfisher is located right in the South-East corner of Cornwall, but dont worry the whole county is within easy reach. Even the famous Fistral beach is only an hour away. All of these we visited and are within 20 mins or so of Kingfisher along main roads :- Seaton beach, this the nearest beach, with a freshwater river.. Sat Nav tries to take you down tiny lanes but there is a proper route! Looe, Saltash Dominos pizza, Lidl, Waitrose, Trago Mills Plymouth via a toll bridge (3 return) Bodmin Moor, with a cream tea at the highest spot in Minions village, The Hurlers prehistoric stones and Cheesewring stones, Golitha waterfalls and Cardinham Woods for shady walks in nature. Plus other local beaches, and smart Bistro cafes. There is an adrenaline place nearby, and Fistral beach around an hour away. In short, we had a lovely visit and would return. Hide
