This unique property is a stone-built roundhouse on a farm near Menheniot, 9 miles north of Looe in southeast Cornwall. You'll be wowed by the living space and you'll love the setting – rural peace, the interest of a working farm around you, and access to both the delightful South Cornish coast for coastal walks, visits to pretty villages and classic Cornish beach days, and wild Bodmin Moor for walking and horse-riding.

You'll love the original features, recalling its original agricultural use, and there's such a feeling of space and relaxation within the strong stone walls. Substantial roof beams support the radial pitch roof and the same bright natural wood is used throughout. Walls are a mix of plaster and pleasingly textured stonework. The relaxing bedrooms have homely touches and cheerful colour accents. Outside, there is a seating area ideal for morning coffee - or for an al fresco lunch, you are welcome to use the enclosed garden of the main house, shared with the owners - this is set in the farm grounds, within 40 metres of the property and accessed via steps.

Locally the lanes are quiet; you can stroll a mile into Menheniot where there are shops and a pub. For great days out with beach, pubs and restaurants, and speciality shops with excellent local produce and crafts, visit Looe on the south coast – wander past fishing boats at the quay to choose fresh fish from the fishmonger, or try your luck with a mackerel fishing trip. On Bodmin Moor, visit Brown Willy, Rough Tor, or Golitha Falls, and dine at famous Jamaica Inn in Bolventor, 15 miles away.

Lovely cottage on working farm, warm welcome from Rachel, Peter and family. Great location for exploring the surrounding area, and both North and South coasts. Fabulous tour of the farm and loved meeting the herd. Everything you need for a comfortable stay.

The Roundhouse is so homely and an excellent base to explore North Cornwall. In the hot weather the thick stone walls and tiled floor make sleeping a dream as the bedrooms are so cool. The village has great community feel and a well stocked village shop. Despite being on a working farm it is so peaceful and comfortable. Home from home.

A really great place to stay, very rustic from the outside, but fabulous on the inside! We were really impressed as soon as we walked in the door. Inverted living really works here, with the first floor level open plan and wonderfully furnished with lots of items, and two really comfortable settees! We really didn't need to have brought anything frRead moreom home, as there was milk in the fridge, some fresh eggs left out, and every utensil or cleaning and cooking item you could want. We didn't use the dishwasher or washing machine, but they were there and everything was of good quality. We had expected to see and hear a lot of farmyard activity, but no - it was very quiet, clean, no smells, just a herd of cows in adjacent fields. We took a wrong turn in arriving, and went up and down some very narrow lanes before we found the place, but that is the character of the area. Once we had found it, no problems! A great point for us was the comfortable bed and a dark bedroom, so we slept really well. A great location if you are planning to explore, or just chill. The owners were very friendly and helpful, and we would be pleased to go back there again. It proved a good location for our daily trips out, and the nearby A38 was used a lot as we ventured out Useful village shop nearby too. Hide

Lovely, comfortable, roomy, unique place to stay. Very central for North Cornwall and South Devon. Hosts are very welcoming and available should you need them. Peaceful, you would not know you were on a working farm.

The owners are very friendly and welcoming. The cottage was lovely and the kitchen was the best I've had the pleasure of using whilst staying in a cottage. Well equipped with everything I needed and more. Love the open plan space upstairs where we spent most of our evenings together as a family of 4. Would recommend and return x

A really lovely property, it's quirky in all the right ways! The location is great, it's tucked out of the way but close enough to everything we wanted to visit. The host was really friendly and helpful, we got to explore parts of the farm and our daughters loved it! We would 100% recommend a stay here and would love to stay again!

Lovely, well appointed cottage, with comfortable beds and a nice living space. Very friendly welcome and had a tour of the farm which was interesting and enjoyable. Only slight downside would be that the single bathroom/toilet did require a bit of negotiation/careful planning when considering the use by 4 adults, but we managed fine and the overallRead more package and location - 15 - 20 mins to Looe and to beaches (when you negotiate the Cornish country lanes) - more than made up for this.
