Just 2 miles from the white sandy beach at Praa Sands, this spacious open-plan barn makes the most of Cornwall's outdoorsy charm - perfect for families in search of a good old-fashioned seaside escape. Levant lies in an idyllic rural setting, on a complex of four private properties, with an abundance of great walks that can be enjoyed from the doorstep.

Tastefully decorated with wooden flooring and neutral, classically countryside tones, the barn stays true to its setting and history, with white-washed exposed beams remaining throughout. Rooms are bright, light and airy, offering ample space for a family of four to enjoy, whether that's together relaxing in the lounge after a busy day exploring, or retiring to one of the three bedrooms for a well-earned rest.

If you can tear yourself away from the quiet beauty of Praa Sands, head 12 miles north to St. Ives - one of Cornwall's most popular towns. Here you'll discover an array of independent shops, cafes and galleries, plus - you guessed it - more incredible beaches. For a dash of culture while you're in town, visit the Minack Theatre or the Barbara Hepworth Museum - ideal trips in cooler, wetter months. Further afield, visit the famous Eden Project (46 miles), or closer to home head to St Michael's Mount (5 miles), where you'll find castles and legend and breathtaking gardens.

This is one of the best cottages we stayed in (and we have stayed in very many). It is in a very quiet location, very spacious with fabulous views. It is appointed to a high standard, the washing machine, dishwasher and TV were easy to use for us Wrinklies. The whole place was spotlessly clean and a lot of attention to detail in the bathrooms/toileRead morets. We were blessed with magnificent weather and we ate on the patio every day enjoying the wonderful peaceful surroundings. A pheasant and two Red Kites were regular visitors. Often in rural cottages you have to suffer the vagaries of the water system, not so here, it is better than the average town house and was bliss! The gardens were in bloom and there were many flowers on display that we also saw in our many excursions around this part of Cornwall. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend. Hide
