To the north, popular resort and surfers’ haven, Newquay, has numerous beaches as well as a bustling town (5.5 miles). For more sandy beaches, head to the small town of Perranporth (7 miles) or the sheltered cove of St Agnes (10 miles) with its shops and pubs. Truly wonderful village location, as described by many. It was an ideal base for exploring, as we hoped it would be. Hot tub is well looked after and clean. However, the rest of the property and grounds are utterly filthy. All 3 full refuse bins not emptied from previous guests. The bin men came and went on Tuesday with no one arriving to put them Read moreout. Mounds of trash stuffed around the sides of the house. Kitchenware was in such terrible condition - Ive thrown better in the bin. Mouldy walls in the bedrooms, some from full cups of tea spilled down them, others just plain mould. I messaged the owner prior to arrival to very politely ask for the property to be properly cleaned during the 6.5hr changeover window, after seeing previous reviews Im still waiting for the delivered message to be acknowledged, sadly. If you booked your stay with a promise of a bbq - there isnt one. Its shut away out of use rather than replacing it. We bought our own and left it. The enclosed garden would be lovely if it was well kept but sadly its as scruffy and unloved as the inside of the property. That said - with glorious weather to have all the doors and windows open, and the huge expanse of space for 4 adults and 2 children, we did have a wonderful holiday and would 100% return to St Newlyn village just not to this property Hide

House was very dirty and unsafe for dogs, example hard sweet right in middle of floor. Very disappointed it was a late check in and not clean at all. Otherwise lovely stay at a lovely property with good facilities and a pretty and well kept, enclosed garden.

Great location for exploring the area. The property comfortably fit five adults and two dogs without feeling crowded. The secure garden was ideal for the dogs, and the hot tub was a nice bonusthough an outdoor light would be helpful. Towels were large and fluffy; showers could be stronger. The local pub was nice, but we preferred the one in MitchelRead morel for its wider menu. Overall, a very enjoyable and relaxing stay. Hide

Lovely location, a nice house. Unfortunately the house was not well looked after, it needs proper cleaning. The highchairs were absolutely filthy, the sofas had marks all over, the hot tub was not checked whilst we were there (if it was it was whilst we were out however it was not cleaned), hot tub had dirt at the bottom and a scum line, needs emptRead moreying and refilling. Bath doesnt work. Lots of issues accepts dogs but not dog friendly. Local beaches and bays were stunning so that was lovely. Hide

A great house in a great location, perfect for exploring all of Cornwall. Lovely village setting with a fantastic, welcoming pub. The house was exactly what we wanted and met our expectations. There was room to spread out and it felt like a home from home for our week away. Thank you to the hosts.

We had a wonderful weeks stay at Cherry Trees. The house is lovely and we really enjoyed the hot tub. The nearby beaches are stunning and we visited Crantock, Perranporth and Fistral, Newquay. We also took a trip to Truro which we enjoyed. Theres lots to see and do nearby so we would highly recommend staying at Cherry Trees.
