Property code: OC-77480

Hidden in the heart of the Tamar Valley with the picturesque River Tamar running close by, this enchanting property boasts a perfect location just on the border of Devon and Cornwall. With impressive grounds and easy access to Dartmoor National Park, there is plenty of opportunities to soak up the natural surroundings, or if you’d rather stay in, you can enjoy the chapel’s grand interior while also making use of its more modern features.

Step inside the property’s impressive oak door, hang up your coat, and marvel at the original chapel bell sitting pride of place in the entrance hall. You can even ring it if you like! Further inside, the sociable open-plan kitchen can be found, with a breakfast bar and a traditional dining table for all the family to gather around. After enjoying a tasty meal, ascend the fairy-tale stone steps to the spacious lounge where there’s plenty of room for everyone to relax. Stretch out on the sofas and take in the room’s rustic charm, with its high vaulted ceiling and grand stained-glass arches – if that doesn’t entertain you enough, there’s also a Smart TV and a computer to choose from. Completing the first floor, there are two bedrooms – a king-size with Smart TV, and a further king size bedroom, which can be made up as a twin on request. Up another floor lies a bunk bedroom ideal for younger guests and the luxurious master bedroom, with a four-poster king-size bed and a viewing window down to the lounge below. Heading outside, a rear patio with furniture and a large lawn area make for a perfect summer evening, or on a cloudier day, everyone can enjoy using the games room inside the garage.

Ideally located for exploring all that both Devon and Cornwall have to offer, you won’t be lacking things to do during your stay. For example, the Victorian mining village of Morwellham Quay is just 5.5 miles from the accommodation and promises history as well as plenty of crafty family fun. There is also a plethora of gorgeous National Trust properties in the area, such as Tudor house Cotehele (4.5 miles) and historic Buckland Abbey (10.5 miles). For a bigger day out, you could even venture to the city of Plymouth (19.5 miles). And if all else fails, with the property situated near the riverside town of Gunnislake, a traditional pub lunch is never far away.

  • 4 bedrooms - 1 four-poster king-size, 1 bunk room, 2 king size (one can be made up as a twin on request)

A fabulous property in a wonderfully isolated location with immense views - it really felt that we had got away from it all for a week. Interesting building sympathetically renovated to a very high quality - comfortable, spacious and well equipped whilst retaining original features such as the chapel bell (and its pull - a useful alarm) and footscrRead moreapers. Glorious woodland walks a short drive away across the river and dog loved the field below the chapel. Games room proved very popular. Hide
