This characterful holiday home enjoys a peaceful, countryside setting, just 3 miles from the vibrant seaside resort of Bude. Sleeping four guests, the charming hideaway is perfect for couples and small families looking to explore all that North Cornwall has to offer. Pick up the long-distance South West Coast Path 3 miles away, or take a day trip across the border to the idyllic Devon village of Clovelly (17 miles), or spend an afternoon soaking up history at Tintagel Castle (19 miles).

The stone-built retreat is bursting with personality, with whitewashed walls, exposed beams, and arched windows. Inside, leave sandy shoes in the entrance hall, before heading through to the split-level living space, which features a collection of carefully chosen accessories and soft furnishings to make you feel at home. A comfortable lounge area with a Smart TV and a round, wooden dining table are on one level, with a few steps leading up to the kitchen area. From here, a statement, spiral staircase takes you to the two first-floor bedrooms, nestled under sloping ceilings in the eaves. A family bathroom rounds off the accommodation. Outside, the vast, shared grounds offer a choice of tranquil spaces for picnics and outdoor games. Private parking is available for two cars.

Journey into Bude to potter amongst the cute gift shops, before grabbing a bite to eat in one of the friendly pubs or tearooms. Bude’s main beach is Summerleaze, a sandy, family-friendly beach with a popular tidal pool and excellent conditions for surfing and water sports. From Bude, dramatic clifftop paths lead to further sandy beaches and hidden coves. Alternatively, take a stroll along the scenic towpath of Bude Canal, or perhaps hire a rowing boat to explore the area from the water.

The cottage was nice but there is no warning the spiral staircase is exceptionally steep and narrow, this needs to be in the description. Totally unsafe for my 6 year old to get up in the night for the bathroom so she had to sleep downstairs with me and her dad sleep upstairs. He barely fit through the gap! The location is good but facilities reallRead morey run down. Tennis courts overgrown, chess pieces present but no board! There was a childrens room that was locked up and run down. It wouldnt take much to bring it back up. A pity really. Not 4 stars at all! 3 maybe. Hide

Amazing for location although the overall site feels rather rundown with the onsite facilities not being a positive.
