This remarkable cottage lies on the banks of the River Tamar and is just 6 miles from Yelverton, one of the many large villages scattered across Dartmoor National Park. Ideal for a family holiday, the single-storey cottage features an open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, two gardens and access to a shared pool. If you want to be close to the coast, bustling market towns and a wealth of walking routes cutting through astonishing countryside then read on…

The cottage lies in an idyllic patch of countryside crisscrossed by narrow hedge-lined lanes reaching out towards the River Tamar and into Dartmoor. Its interior is contemporary/rustic, its softly lit rooms peppered with imaginative soft furnishings where little details catch the eye. There is plenty of room in the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, a long area with comfortable sofas, spacious work surfaces, table and chairs that look out into the garden through broad patio doors. Down the hall there are two en-suite bedrooms, an inviting double with dual aspect windows and a spacious twin with quirky flooring. You and yours also have two gardens to choose from: will it be the south-facing decked area at the front of the cottage or the lawned and patio area at the rear that’s ideal for summer BBQs? There’s a shared indoor heated pool within 50 metres of the cottage, and space for boats close to a public slipway with access to Plymouth Sound.

The cottage’s proximity to the River Tamar (500 metres) makes it ideal for walkers, cyclists and boat owners who want to explore this iconic waterway at their own pace. Yelverton (6 miles) is a pretty village within the Dartmoor National Park, home to stunning natural and historical landmarks. Elsewhere, the bustling market town of Tavistock (7 miles) has numerous shops and eateries, and the host of numerous cultural events throughout the year.

This was our second visit to Camellia Cottage, I would recommend this lovely place for a holiday. Every aspect & facility were thought of by the owners to cover all needs & eventualities. The cottage was immaculate, the cleanliness cannot be faulted. Camellia Cottage was private & the whole place peaceful. We hope to return.

A beautiful cottage with gorgeous interior, but the real selling point is its tranquil location. The care and attention the owners have taken to restore the landscape from brownfield site to a stunning mini nature reserve is amazing. Loved everything about our stay.
