Take your nearest and dearest – friends or family – plus your two best canine buddies on a north Cornish adventure to this lovely four-bed detached house on the outskirts of popular Bude. Indulge in long lingering mealtimes alfresco, sat under the dappled light of the plant-strewn wooden pergola, the dogs at your feet or watching them and any kids playing in the generous enclosed garden. It’s in a great location that is far enough out of town to guarantee restorative peace and quiet, but still near enough to walk to most amenities within 1 mile and even beaches.

This attractive house makes a great family retreat. The large open-plan kitchen/diner is well equipped and suited for group culinary efforts or you can sit at the breakfast bar and cheer the chef on from the sidelines. The lounge is a lovely comfortable space with a cosy wood burner. There’s another ‘snug’ area with a sofa on the upstairs landing if you want time out. Pick from two king-size-bedrooms, one en-suite, and two twin rooms, one of which has a zip-and-link bed that can become a super-king-size upon request. They’re all modern relaxing spaces with individual, neutral decor. Throw open the bifold doors from the kitchen onto the large decked terrace area with sun loungers. There’s lots of lawn, more seating and the pergola to opt for too.

Bude, along this rugged northern Cornish coastline, is known for being a top beach retreat, so get exploring. It’s got an impressive choice of golden sandy beaches (check for seasonal dog restrictions), ten-pin bowling and other fun family activities. There’s also lots of choice for refreshment on non-self-catering days. For walkies with the woofers, choose from the Bude Canal (less than 0.25 miles) or the potentially more challenging South West Coast Path.

  • 4 bedrooms - 2 super king size, 1 twin zip-and-link (which can be made up as a super-king-size on request) and 1 twin
  • 2 bathrooms - 1 bathroom with bath, separate shower, and WC; 1 en-suite shower room with WC; and 1 separate ground-floor WC
  • Electric oven, gas hob, fridge, microwave, and dishwasher
  • Utility room with freezer, fridge and washing machine
  • Large dining room with piano
  • Travel cot and highchair available on request
  • Wood burner with first supply of logs provided
  • Smart TV in the lounge
  • Spacious enclosed garden with outdoor dining furniture and sun loungers
  • Private parking for 3 cars on the driveway
  • Beach, canal, shop, and pub less than 1 mile
  • Charcoal BBQ
  • EV charging is not permitted at this property
  • Arrival: 16:00 onwards
  • Departure: before 10:00
  • 2 dogs allowed. Additional charges may apply

Excellent week in beautiful Bude. House was fantastic, spotless and in a superb location, could have stayed longer. Walk to Bude along the roadway was around 20 mins, but steep coming back, we used the walk along the canal into Bude, around the same time but much easier. House had everything you could need and a few extra items on arrival, ownerRead mores even dropped us on some glasses for the eclipse. Garden was lovely and safe for our two dogs, and views over rolling countryside. Piano was an added bonus which our daughter loved. Many attractions/villages within 45 mins drive, Boscastle, Clovelly, Tintagel, Port Isaac, Widemouth Bay, and St Nectan's Glen Waterfall were all well worth visiting and would recommend to anyone when in the area. The Brendon Arms, Coachman's Bar and Grill both served lovely meals of an evening, Life's a Beach was ideal when on the beach and wanting a snack. The Sea pool on Summerleaze beach is also a must, Would have gladly stayed longer and will return. If you are looking for a lovely clean house with everything you could possibly need, within walking distance of Bude then look no further, you will not be disappointed. . Hide

We had an amazing stay at Wildwood, Bude, Cornwall (July-26). Property was great, everything you need for two familys of 4. Kitchen's well equiped, bathroom/showers really good, bedroom / linen clean, quality matresses & pillows. Had more than enough living space and garden really nice to relax in after days out or back from the beach, with parkingRead more easy for two cars. Location of the property is within a short walking distance into Bude, or 2 mins car journey. Bude itself, lots to do, days on the beach, tennis, golf, shops, amenities, cliff top and canal walks. Loads of places to eat so whether popping out for breakfast, going to beach cafe for lunch, or evening meal at local hotel / pubs. Days out to consider, Ilfracombe, Padstow, Tintagel Castle, Clovelly to name drop a few. We received text messages from Jacky (owner) welcoming us on arrival and also when we left, making sure we had the perfect stay. Wildwood I would recommend highly, and looking foward to a return holiday in the future - Simon Hide
