Where countryside meets the coast, this unique getaway clinging to Portloe’s hillside perfectly combines traditional Cornish cottage style with a seaside nautical theme. With a terraced garden with sun loungers for warmer weather and a wood burner for cooler evenings, you’ll be blessed with views across a picturesque harbour and out to sea whether you decide to rest.

After adventuring the local coastline, the cottage welcomes you into a spacious open-plan kitchen/living/dining room, complete with a fresh neutral colour palette accented by bold blues, reflecting the hues of the bay outside. Hunker down for the evening in the living area made cosy by a roaring wood burner, with plenty of comfortable seating to snuggle into while you watch a film on the Smart TV. The bespoke handmade kitchen is equipped with everything you need to rustle up a hearty meal to feed the family around the dining table. Immerse yourself underneath the waterfall shower in the family bathroom to soothe tired muscles before bed. Retreat upstairs to enjoy spectacular sea views across all three beautiful bedrooms. Watch the sunrise at dawn on the elevated south-facing patio or dine alfresco admiring the unrivalled views of the fishing harbour and the sea beyond.

Lying within the Cornwall Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and considered the crowning jewel of the Roseland Peninsula, nestled inside a steep-sided valley with a picturesque sandy cove, it’s not hard to see why the fishing village of Portloe has been selected several times as the backdrop to some fantastic blockbuster films. Ramble from Portloe’s picture-perfect harbour (less than 0.5 miles) to the headlands above to be rewarded with breathtaking views back towards the cove and the colourful cottages dotted around the village. From here, join up with the South West Coast Path, following the trail along the peninsula to soak up the rugged coastline and what is thought of as the prettiest and most unspoilt part of Cornwall.

We had a fabulous week at Vine Cottage. It is a very easy and comfortable cottage to live in. All mod cons but with a traditional feel to it. Great location, very quiet and peaceful but easy to get out and explore. We loved it.
