With views over the North Cornish coastline and the beautifully rugged Bodmin Moor, you'll find yourself fully submerged in countryside living at Lamorna Cottage. The cottage lies within Delabole village, just 1 mile from the coast, in the heart of King Arthur Country, abound with castles and battle sites. Here you'll enjoy an unforgettable escape from everyday life, with everything you could need within a mile or so, guaranteeing a care-free and relaxing break.

 

The interior expertly fuses contemporary and country styles, resulting in a home away from home that's packed with cosy character. There's ample space for the kids to run around and enjoy, while the original inglenook fireplace with wood burner turns it into a warm haven at night. Traditional features are dotted throughout for a uniquely Cornish aesthetic, from exposed beams and wood panelling to winding cottage stairs.

 

Venture down to Trebarwith Strand, just 2 miles away, where the active among you can sign up to surf school or enjoy a leisurely stroll with the dog. Port Isaac (6 miles) and Padstow (18 miles) are both also nearby and are must-visits when you're in the area; head out to sea on fishing excursions, wander the cobbled streets and boutique shops, or simply enjoy the view with an ice cream or bag of Cornish fudge.

The property had some positives, particularly the well stocked kitchen, which had everything needed for our stay. However, the overall experience was let down by a few issues. The cleanliness was not up to the standard we expected, and there was a very strong dog smell downstairs that was noticeable as soon as we entered the property and wheneveRead morer we came back downstairs. This had a significant impact on comfort during our stay (and we are dog owners ourselves). We were also concerned about the bunk bed room, as the bedroom doorway opens directly onto the open staircase with little separation. For families with young children, this could be a safety concern, particularly if children get up during the night. With improvements to cleanliness, odour control, and consideration of the staircase safety issue, the property could offer a much better experience for future guests. Hide

This little old stone-built cottage is very well placed for visiting the coast and the countryside (lots of historic churches!). Well-equipped kitchen for self-catering. The main room is not large, and the stairs quite steep. Comfortable bed and bunks, but prepare for not much space in the bunk-bedroom! Where it really scores is as a location from Read morewhich to explore unspoilt N. Cornwall. There are walks around Delabole & the slate quarry, and the SW coast path is only a couple of miles away. Misleading . On a mai. Road with a zebra crossing in front. No secure garden just a small front patch . Cottage is full of mould and damp and our belongings stank after staying here. Oven was filthy, bathrooms and bedrooms had black mould. Seriously in need of maintenance and redecoration. Would not recommend - Reply from Holiday Cottages - Thank yRead moreou for your feedback. Well equipped, cosy and picturesque cottage. A good base for exploring the area, with excellent nearby walks and great beaches within easy striking distance.

Good location. Property has potential but the cleanliness NEEDS MAJOR improvement. Strong smell of dog urine downstairs and stains on carpet. Skirting boards dirty and hairs from previous guests (animal and human assuming) over surfaces and floors. Washing machine unusable due to smell and hairs inside. Excellent cottage situated in the heart of Delabole. There is parking for one car directly outside the property, shared pathway to thr property. Small front garden, not secure for a dog. The kitchen has everything you need , almost home from home. Both bed rooms have a great view of Bodmin. Double bed was super comfy. Everyone we met was very kind,Read more especially in the well stocked Spar shop . We walked to the SWCP twice from the cottage, save using the car. There was also a good bus service. Hide

A general lack of maintenance and cleaning made what could have been a lovely stay well below par. Most of the heating didn't work, there was visible mould, stained linen and dog hair everywhere. Good value for money and ideal for a couple looking for a Base to explore Cornwall. Not really big enough for a family though. Very charming cottage and worth a visit
